The skies looked okay everywhere else but this moody cloud formation that looked like it was going to dump rain on us at some point , we headed closer to shore just in case but it passed over eventually and didnt rain on us!!

Okay I can see everyone rolling their eyes . . . another Christmas photo! But Monday was the last day of the train show at New York Botanical Garden and I was up there at sunset. Seems like an appropriate posting right?

Okay, to be honest, I didn't wait very long, but I was intrigued by the possibility of a locomotive headlight piercing through that fog. But was I going to forfeit other possibilities down the road for something that probably would not happen?
So, I pressed on. Well sure enough, about 10 minutes after I left, I heard that whistle blowin'.... Maybe another morning?

Okay… here is another Vertorama of that amazing thunderstorm that we had last Thursday.
Just look how dark the sky on the right of this image is… that was the bit that was heading directly towards me… the bit that engulfed and totally soaked me a mere minute or two after I took these images.
Hey... I've just realised... this is my 700th Vertorama... oh dear... I'm definitely addicted! :)

The squirrel was feeding on the deck rail when suddenly it stopped and draped itself on the rail. I know they spread themselves out to cool off, but it did this in the full sun with shade only a few feet away. It wasn't moving so I went out and asked "Are you okay?" Apparently it was, because it jumped into the nearby tree.
I rule the freakin roost here ... now I told ya the other you could share a few seeds and that yeah you could bring a few buddies...but don't ya think you're pushing the limits a little ...wow...just look at you guys...sitting up there like vultures... now scat.....
Nice to be back my friends...I'll do my best to get in touch with all of you...
