Okay, it's not actually within our backyard, but it's just beyond it. The yard behind our house borders a large park that is just being developed. The park was recently seeded, and the straw was put down as mulch. I took this shot while standing on our backyard deck. I think these Sandhill Cranes must have been eating the grass seed.
I know that there's not a lot going on in this image. But I rather like the repetitive poses of the birds, and I thought it was kind of cool that I could get this shot without leaving home, so I decided to go with it. The abundance of Sandhill Cranes in the area near our new home in Michigan has been one of the pleasant surprises of living here.

Okay...so yesterday was my first day birding for a couple of months. Although, sciatica remains to be a pain in the arse (literally), it was so good to drive out to the Salisbury Plain to look for some migrating whinchats. The trip was a success! Plenty of stonechat about also!!
Thank you for taking a look at my images.

People say I'm crazy
Doing what I'm doing
Well, they give me all kinds of warnings
To save me from ruin
When I say that I'm okay, well they look at me kinda strange
"Surely, you're not happy now, you no longer play the game"
I'm just sitting here watching the wheels go round and round
I really love to watch them roll
No longer riding on the merry-go-round
I just had to let it go

okay last of the fox families for a while......mom's bringing home the 'bacon' (as in bunny), fox dens can get pretty smelly.
....I think this den consisted of seven kits so needless to say the parents were kept pretty busy trying to feed these little guys, they are always on the prowl themselves for bugs and birds....you burn a lot of energy wrestling around with your siblings.....
Okay okay I know, It's actually "Made it Ma, Top of the World!" but I'm taking artistic licence thank you very much!

The squirrel was feeding on the deck rail when suddenly it stopped and draped itself on the rail. I know they spread themselves out to cool off, but it did this in the full sun with shade only a few feet away. It wasn't moving so I went out and asked "Are you okay?" Apparently it was, because it jumped into the nearby tree.
Okay, of course no streetrace, but it looks a little bit like it ^^ The lighting was awful, anyway I had to upload this nice combo
Thanks for asking me to join in on this challenge Lawrence D. Pryce. It was more of a challenge than I anticipated it would be, and I love that. #PryceBodyLanguageChallenge
♫ Rob Thomas: I Think We'd Look Good Together ♫
Say you wanna go to my place?
Well, okay
I'm kind of wild
Moving at a fast pace
Slow down baby
Have some wine, have a little champagne
We got no reason to rush
Cause soon enough I'm gonna do some things that make you blush
Do you like a little music?
Marvin Gaye?
What's going on? I like the way you move it
When you sway
I like the way you bump and grind do you mind if I take a little more time
You're so fine but I can't believe you're mine even only tonight
just got photoshop 30day trial, wanted to fuck around with some stuff.. credit to r.i.wold for the freight flick. And that abyde was a sketch I did that I put on the car
So I decided to go crazy for Crazy Tuesday. This is a disposable plastic glove. I scanned it to see how it would look. I did embellish it for effect.
For some reason, this photo looks different on the Flickr mobile app. Included is a link to the picture on SmugMug. It seems to look better than the mobile app. www.lmcclendonphoto.com/Flickr-Themes/Crazy-Tuesday/n-8pK...

And that's a wrap! The 13th year of Arachtober is in the can. I really enjoyed taking you guys along for the ride, and thank you all for coming with me, with your faves and comments.
This was a striking large jumping spider I chased up and down the side of the Hodgepodge Lodge, a tiny red cabin in the woods that starred in a TV show I never saw because I didn't grow up in the area. The spider finally stopped running when it tucked into this leaf, so I'll leave you with a cute big-eyed image for the end of this run. ºOOº
