The Lower Falls at Old Man's Cave in Hocking Hills State Park, OH. My son loves waterfalls and I promised him we'd see some this past weekend, so we went here since we were already in the area. There are several great falls here.

Living and working near Cleveland and Akron gives me access to a surprising number of abandoned sites. While scouting for safe vantage points, I discovered the Cleveland Thermal Steam Plant—built in 1894 along the Cuyahoga River. Once a vital part of the city’s infrastructure, it supplied steam heat to over 100 downtown buildings for more than a century before closing in 2016. Soon, it will be razed to make way for a sports complex, river walk, and kayak launch. I wanted to capture its final chapter before it disappears. This image was processed in both color and black and white. Here is the HDR version that emphasizes its industrial mood and fading legacy.
