I hope everyone celebrating Canada Day is enjoying a festive, long weekend =)

-25 (with a windchill of -38 degrees) was the Canadian Challenge last weekend to endure the best, capricious Mother Nature had to throw at us. A unique opportunity to have the beach all to myself! Busily, I took as many shots as possible, happily singing to myself. However the longer I stayed, I noticed my voice getting higher and higher ;)

At the Cenotaph At Chinguacousy Park. There is a memorial garden and a walk of heroes. along the path are inscriptions of various things this one is an excerpt from our national anthem.

I was feeling a llit bit patriotic today.

Hopping ashore on a tiny island in the Voyageurs archipelago only to discover I'd inadvertently entered Canada, oops.

“Oh Canada…True north strong and free. We stand on guard for thee”.

If you keep walking past the spot where 99.9% of folks take a picture it gets a lot less busy and you get a very different perspective of the mountains and lake.

Spirit Island and Maligne Lake in Jasper National Park from my most recent trip to the Canadian Rockies. The Canadian Alberta's Canadian Rockies embarrassment or riches is truly a treasure to explore.

Victoria Park, Truro

I decided to drive the backroad, highway 68 to Barrier Lake, Kananaskis, Alberta. Glad I did!

Winding, gravel roads through the valley towards Barrier Lake were simply breath taking. Can't wait to travel back out west.
