OK, just one more but with just a touch of where I was before cutting out the floor. A bit of a flip, spliced in a couple of approximately 45 deg slices and enhanced the perspective to come up with this radial 2.0 view of the walkway at O'Hare Airport. It's hard to stay away from the colors and the lines!

A over processed photo of some dramatic clouds at sunset tonight.

Just returning from a two week business trip to Provence, France (it's a dirty job, but somebody has to do it). These first few photos are my trying to catch up on my photo a day group postings. This is the tunnel between two terminals at Chicago O'Hare Airport on the first day of the trip. For 2016: one photo each day (275/366)

Built in 1989-1993, this Contemporary and Postmodern-style building was designed by Ralph Johnson of Perkins + Will Architects to serve as an international terminal for Chicago O’Hare International Airport, replacing the former International Terminal within the original Terminal 1. The building was expanded and renovated in 2019-2023 under the direction of HOK and Muller2, expanding the concourse and improving service and public areas to better serve passengers traveling through the terminal. The building is physically isolated from the other terminals at O’Hare, and has a more curvilinear and rounded form, but features a similar glass and metal exterior, with a contemporary addition featuring a large interior atrium that is slated to be the first of several similar structures built during the ongoing renovations at the airport. Today, the terminal serves as the local hub for Delta Airlines, as well as international airlines.

My dear friend, Skip Staheli, took this photo for me and I am in awe as I usually am with his work. The cute little doggies and the sheet music floating around the room, the antique piano. Love the details, and the black and white. Thank you Skip, you always just know the exact thing I will love! <3

This is where I spent a year of my life, possibly the most important year of my life, filled with the highest highs, and lowest lows. I learned alot of important life lessons in this place that I wouldn't trade for anything. All and all it turned out to be a dark time in my life that I was lucky to escape alive. This was what the world looked like outside of my safe four walls.
