I lost my muse a bit, so I was playing around with older images the other day. Here I added motion blur and texture (oganic dirt) in DxO Analog Efex.
I love to find hearts in unexpected places when strolling through the neighbourhood.

I put my drone up over the remnants from the Old Man Fire beside the Galloping Goose Trail (GGT) in Sooke, BC.
I was surprised to see it was a ground fire which saved the tree canopy as can be seen in these pictures.
A subsurface forest fire, also known as a ground fire, occurs when wildfires burn beneath the surface of the earth, often
in peatlands or other organic matter. These fires smolder rather than flare up, and can persist for extended periods, even through winter. They can reignite surface fires and pose hazards to humans and animal.
This is perhaps the reasoning in keeping the GGT trail closed in this area for such an extended period.
N.B. The devastation at ground level is immense.

A solitary bench overlooking the magnificent atlantic ocean. THe area is called Hope cove, Torquay- very affectionately called the English riviera.
It was a lovely day with the sun peeping through scattered cloud sheets.
I love how the nikon colors just pops out and I don't fully understand but a certain thing happens specifically with the Sigma ART series lenses in front of my D3S sensor. The D800 is so clinical and sterile in rendering, I cannot achieve this ?oganic-ness that I get with the 3 series of nikon.
I dread the age of my Nikon D3s- nearing 200k shutter actuations.
Although D3/3s boes have become dirt cheap compared to how it was even 5 years back, I hope my camera will surprise me with many many more clicks!
