A Haneda International Airport bound monorail service eases into the curve at Shibaura while below a Shinkansen and Rapid service pass by during the tail end of Friday morning rush hour.
This monorail is a 1000 series, built from 1989-1996 to replace earlier, non-A/C equipped monorails. The livery on this particular one recreates the original black and white with red stripe, first applied on the first 1000 series back in 1989.

These two sea stacks are located off the Eysturoy coast which is part of the Faroe Islands.
They look very small compared to the Eiðiskollur cliff with its elevation of 352m. But in fact they have a height of 71m and 69m!!!
The name "Risin og Kellingin" means someting like "The Giant and the Hag" and is related to an old Faroese legend.

NS 23Z arrives Park Manor with the #8114 which commemorates the original Norfolk Southern between Norfolk, Virginia and Charlotte, North Carolina. The train is running on the PRR (PFW&C) alignment of the Chicago Line. On the left is the NYC (LS&MS) right-of-way which was abandoned by Penn Central in 1972. In the distance are the LS&MS/PFW&C lift bridges over the Calumet River and the Skyway Toll Bridge.
The sun is rising late at this place taking its sweet time until it finally creeps up behind the mountain. So for once, I didn't have to get up at 4:00 am to shoot the sunrise.
