Manuscript title: Breviarium OFM (pars hiemalis)
Manuscript summary: The first part of a breviary intended for use by a Franciscan, perhaps a Poor Clare, was referred to as Horae canonicae in earlier literature. It was written in 1459 on high quality parchment by the well known scribe Johannes Frauenlob. The coats of arms of Constance families Schatz and Guldinast allow us to make inferences about who commissioned it. Rich book decoration includes gold-grounded initials, filigree, and margin borders. About 30 figured and illustrated initials by two stylistically distinct hands, of which the first is distinguished by particular virtuosity: «Der mit zahllosen Farbpunkten vorgenommene Farbauftrag, die heitere Rankenmalerei […] und auch das geschärfte Verständnis für Fernwirkung bei Landschaftsdarstellungen sind beinahe einzigartig für diese Zeit in der Bodenseemalerei.»

Santo Antônio de Sant'Ana Galvão, OFM, mais conhecido como Frei Galvão (Guaratinguetá, 1739 — São Paulo, 23 de dezembro de 1822) foi um frade católico e primeiro santo nascido no Brasil. Foi canonizado pelo papa Bento XVI durante sua visita ao Brasil (São Paulo) em 11 de maio de 2007.
Biografia
O pai, Antônio Galvão de França, nascido em Portugal, era o capitão-mor da vila. Sua mãe, Isabel Leite de Barros, era filha de fazendeiros, bisneta do famoso bandeirante Fernão Dias Pais, o "caçador de esmeraldas".
Antônio viveu com seus irmãos numa casa grande e rica, pois seus pais gozavam de prestígio social e influência política. O pai, querendo dar uma formação humana e cultural segundo suas possibilidades econômicas, mandou o filho com a idade de treze anos para o Colégio de Belém, dos padres jesuítas, na Bahia, onde já se encontrava seu irmão José.
Lá fez grandes progressos nos estudos e na prática cristã, de 1752 a 1756. Queria tornar-se jesuíta, mas por causa da perseguição movida contra a Ordem pelo Marquês de Pombal, seu pai o aconselhou a entrar para os franciscanos, que tinham um convento em Taubaté, não muito longe de Guaratinguetá. Assim, renunciou a um futuro promissor e influente na sociedade de então, e aos 16 anos, entrou para o noviciado na Vila de Macacu, no Rio de Janeiro.
Estátua do frade em sua cidade natal, GuaratinguetáA 16 de abril de 1761 fez seus votos solenes. Um ano após foi admitido à ordenação sacerdotal, pois julgaram seus estudos suficientes.
Foi então mandado para o Convento de São Francisco em São Paulo a fim de aperfeiçoar os seus estudos de filosofia e teologia, e exercitar-se no apostolado. Data dessa época a sua "entrega a Maria", como seu "filho e escravo perpétuo", consagração mariana assinada com seu próprio sangue a 9 de março de 1766.
Terminados os estudos foi nomeado Pregador, Confessor dos Leigos e Porteiro do Convento, cargo este considerado de muita importância, pela comunicação com as pessoas e o grande apostolado resultante. Em 1769-70 foi designado confessor de um Recolhimento de piedosas mulheres, as "Recolhidas de Santa Teresa", em São Paulo

Biography
Father, Antonio Galvao de France was born in Portugal, was the chief captain of the village. His mother, Isabel Leite de Barros, was the daughter of farmers, granddaughter of the famous pioneer Fernão Dias Pais, the "hunter of emeralds."
Anthony lived with his sister in a large and rich, because their parents enjoyed the social prestige and political influence. The father, wanting to give a human and cultural training according to their economic possibilities, he sent his son at the age of thirteen years to the College of Bethlehem, the Jesuit priests in Bahia, where it was his brother Joseph
There was great progress in studies and Christian practice, from 1752 to 1756. I wanted to become a Jesuit, but because of the persecution of the Order by the Marquis of Pombal, his father advised him to join the Franciscans, who had a convent in Taubaté, not far from city government. So, resigned to a promising future and influence on society then, and at 16, he entered the novitiate in the village of Macacu in Rio de Janeiro.
Statue of basking in his hometown, GuaratinguetáA April 16, 1761 made his solemn vows. A year after he was admitted to ordination, as their studies judged sufficient.
It was then sent to the Convent of San Francisco in Sao Paulo in order to enhance their studies of philosophy and theology, and exercising the apostolate. Around this time his "surrender to Mary," as his "son and perpetual slavery," Marian consecration signed with his own blood on March 9, 1766.
After his studies he was appointed preacher, confessor of Lay and Porter Convent, this office considered of much importance, for communicating with people and the resulting large apostolate. In 1769-70 he was appointed confessor to a gathering of pious women, the "Collected Santa Teresa" in Sao Paulo

One I've spotted before but the photos were dreadful as both times it was on the move. Rare to see a van version with what looks like GTI alloys. I like the green and yellow boomerang decal on the rear quarter panel.

Since S6 now involves twice weekly trips to the affectionately named J-High (Johnstone High School) It's been incredibly frustrating seeing these 65 plate buses arrive and not being able to get a photograph any of them... so luckily SN65 OFM was presented to the world at GVVT today and I managed to get a pictue of it!
