These are some of the first of the adult bugs I've seen, as most are in the translucent baby stage, and hard to photograph.

These wonderful old biplanes are all in flight at the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome:
When we lived in NY we would go and enjoy the shows, and I got lots of photos of these wonderful old aircraft. I shot these on film with a Nikon N80 and I'm just now getting around to scanning some of them. I hope you enjoy them, too; I love these old aircraft!
If you ever get a chance to go and see the shows there...don't miss it!
The biplanes from the Old Rhinebeck Aerodrome I shot on film, ISO 400, with a Nikon N80. The photos you see in my set, "Biplanes," are scans from the original photos, not the negatives, which turned out to give the planes a grainy, authentic, old-timey look.
All other biplanes were shot digitally with my Nikon D3000.

The camera in my PDA/phone is absolutely crap, but it's the only thing I carry around most of the time while i'm on the bicycle. I've been passing this railway crossing many times and every time thought: hmm need to bring the real camera one of these days. Well, didn't bring it this time either, but shot a picture anyway. Some day, some day, i'll snap a decent shot and a decent composition.
Today has been a day full of errands. Dropped child at nursery, manic holiday food shop, got hair cut, visited friends, collected some extra paraphernalia for the boy child (booster seat and waterproofs), baked a cake, packed....
And so I think we are ready for the off in the morning. Holibobs, yay! It's going to rain on us all week isn't it?
