Mount Kazbegi is a dormant stratovolcano and the highest peak of Eastern Georgia. It is located on the border of Georgia and Russia.
The Gergeti Trinity Church is a Georgian Orthodox and Apostolic Church built in the 14th century. The separate belltower dates from the same period as the church itself. Its isolated location on top of a steep mountain surrounded by the vastness of nature has made it a symbol for Georgia.

While walking down the Paint Creek Trail, I spotted some stone pillars (have a shot of them for later maybe). After going off the trail, I spotted this. I thought it was interesting and wondered who did it. It wasn't far off the trail, you can see the fence in the background. Khor Virap is a historic monastery in Armenia, famously associated with Saint Gregory the Illuminator, the patron saint who brought Christianity to Armenia.
According to tradition, in the late 3rd century, King Tiridates III imprisoned Gregory in a deep underground pit (the "virap") at the site - because Gregory was a Christian and refused to renounce his faith. He was held there for about 13 years.
Eventually, the king went mad, and only recovered after Gregory was freed and prayed for him. Grateful, Tiridates converted to Christianity, and in 301 AD, Armenia became the first nation in the world to adopt Christianity as its state religion.
Khor Virap marks the place where Gregory was imprisoned and later emerged as a symbol of Armenia’s Christian faith.

Luosto is a scenic tourist destination located in the heart of Lapland, Finland. It is particularly popular for its beautiful natural environment, with extensive forests, hills and impressive scenery that attracts visitors in both winter and summer. Luosto is a well-known tourist destination in Lapland, Finland, situated in the municipality of Sodankylä. It is celebrated for its stunning natural surroundings, winter activities, and the Pyhä-Luosto National Park. In January, daylight hours are very short due to the polar night, a phenomenon occurring in areas above the Arctic Circle, including Lapland. We set out early in the darkness on our journey to Luosto. In Lapland, the colors of the sky during sunrise and sunset can be very intense due to the low position of the sun on the horizon. The long twilight periods can produce unique colors in the sky, including green hues, due to various scattering effects of sunlight. Our adventure starts at the secluded hamlet of Ukko-Luostontien in Luosto. In Finland, traditional wooden houses are often referred to as "wooden cabins" or "wooden chalets." The Finnish word for a wooden house is puutalo. We are walking on the ridge of fjells Ukko-Luosto along the primeval forest in the area. The snow here resembles an untouched white carpet, with trees draped in a thick layer of powder snow. Every step disrupts the serene silence of the snowy surroundings; the crunching sound of fresh snow under my hiking boots fills the air. The trees gently bend under the weight of the snow, and nature here in Luosto appears to be in a deep winter slumber. .

A beautiful winter day for exploring the winding back roads of the Baker and Keating valleys with spectacular views of the Wallowa and Elk Horn Mountains.
I came across this small rural dam somewhere in northern Vietnam, tucked away in dense tropical vegetation. The water was pouring through the rusty floodgates with real force, and the blue sluice gate mechanisms on top created a striking contrast against the lush green backdrop and the weathered concrete and rust below. There's something captivating about these raw, functional structures slowly being reclaimed by nature. A little blue house with a red umbrella on the left completed the scene perfectly.

Bulnes é uma pequena aldeia situada no maciço central dos Picos de Europa, no concelho de Cabrales, nas Astúrias. É um lugar isolado e tranquilo, rodeado de montanhas impressionantes, como o Picu Urriellu ou Naranjo de Bulnes. Para chegar a Bulnes, só há duas opções: ir a pé por um trilho pedregoso que parte de Poncebos, ou usar o funicular subterrâneo que atravessa a rocha em 7 minutos.
Bulnes is a small village located in the central massif of the Picos de Europa, in the municipality of Cabrales in Asturias. It is a secluded and peaceful place, surrounded by impressive mountains such as the Picu Urriellu or Naranjo de Bulnes. To get to Bulnes, there are only two options: walk along a stony path from Poncebos, or use the underground funicular that crosses the rock in 7 minutes.
