Literally the last model portrait shoot I've done in 2022. Been way more focused on events and clients. Can't buy lenses with models! [Please... don't... it's sarcasm... sorta].
That and I've been off IG since March. Mostly for a mental health break* from the artificial world. And then I haven't found much reason to get back involved if I'm not going to be 100% about reels. I just know that the more I logged on there, the worse feeling I'd get... about... well... everything. Not even a comparison thing. More like... "Just what is this? It doesn't feel social, and it's certainly not photography."
Then I'd get set to post and think "What good will come from me posting this here and why does it feel laborious to do so?"
*Do I miss doing model portrait shoots? A bit, yeah. But these days, it's been great for me to spend more of my time doing more productive things. Wish I could say "working out" was one of them! LOL
But the break also kinda revealed something. In 5 months, only one person from IG even reached out with a "Hey, how're you doing? Haven't seen you on here in a while." And that was another photographer I've met once years ago. A wise person told me once "Don't go back on stage if the crowd isn't asking for an encore."
I think that's pretty valid.
IG is what it is. It's for certain people and not for others. I'm likely in the "other" camp.

When i was in college and grad school, I'd raid the A&N and local sporting good stores that'd sell old high school and college jerseys for $5-15. Why? Ionno. I just liked em. Didn't wear them or anything. Didn't go broke spending on them or anything. I figured one day they'd be neat items to have.
I do believe this is an old U of Wyoming football jersey from the late 80's or early 90's. I've got 2 of them. #81 and #6. Prolly paid $5 apiece.
One of my favorite people to work with returned home and I demanded a shoot. Once I told her I had a football theme in mind for part of it, she said "I'm bringing the eye black!" and was excited.
I think some of them might have been better sans eye-black, but once she put it on, it wasn't going to come off or anything for a jersey switch. Oh well.
We had a ball on a reasonably warm Autumn Sunday.
Turns out she brought cowgirl boots to match this one.
