The Milky Way stretches over the Pinnacles of Trona.
After a lackluster sunset and the prospects of a bland sunrise, in Death Valley, Bill and I decided to head over to Trona Pinnacles to make a few nightscapes.
We arrived around midnight and the place was packed!!!! There were photography workshops and offroaders and motorhomes, and campers, you name it was there. Most of best formations were blocked with campers so we were somewhat limited by that, but as vast as the pinnacles are we still found some interesting spots to capture the Milky Way. We used "LLL" to light the scene here.

The 2020 Glass Fire, which started on September 27 and remained active for 23 days, burned 67,484 acres and destroyed 1,555 buildings in Napa and Sonoma counties by the time it was finally 100% contained. This panoramic view shows what's left of what used to be a beautiful piece of land and hill full of trees and plants. The lighter colored tracks were not the work of snowbiles, all wheel drives, or offroaders. They were etched by heat from fallen burning trees rolling downhill.

My first chance to get outdoors with Big Red. Time for a check under the bonnet (hood) to make sure all is well before we head off exploring! Planning a big trip in a few months. Time to get those new tyres a little dirty!
A forced perspective shot of a 1/18th scale Kyoshso model 1981 Toyota Landcruiser. I deliberately left myself out of this shot - maybe in a few weeks I might sneak myself back in!
