Germany is a developing country when it comes to internet and internet access. Which in our case means that we've been offline for some days now because our reliably incompetent access provider kindly upgraded us to what was advertised as 'high speed DSL'.
So sorry for not commenting all that much. At least, here's some signs of life in form of a selfie... it's been raining for days now and the pack is cuddling up and preparing for winter ;)

I've been staying at home - or rather - staying inside my own head. To think. To gather my outstretched self. To decide on the creative choices ahead - moreover - to make those creative choices a reality for me. It takes a lot of mooching about - finding the balance between searching and drifting can be difficult. Learning to stop reacting to every request that comes my way. Learning to focus...ah...now therein lies my challenge.
For Station Saturday here's a the last train i photographed in 2024.
Hotshot Bowden to Hialeah intermodal train 105 is about MP 154.2 on the 369 mile long mainline that stretches down the east coast from the St. Johns River Bridge in Jacksonville to Hialeah Yard in Miami. They have just crossed Main Street in the center of town and are passing the historic former FEC passenger station which saw last passenger train call in 1963. The little stucco Spanish Revival styled building it is still owned by the railroad and is one of very few depots remaining in their as built location beside the mainline. Leading the train are ES44ACs 805 and 816 built in Oct. and Nov. 2014 respectively and spliced by their custom LNG fuel tank car. Originally diesel powered the entire 24 unit GE fleet was retrofitted to run on LNG as detailed in this article: files.chartindustries.com/FEC-LNG-FloridaEastCoastRailway... Originally delivered in this gorgeous heritage 'Champion' paint, the trailing unit has just recently been repainted into the garish Grupo Mexico designed livery reflecting the 2017 purchase of the railroad by the Mexican Conglomerate when the freight franchise was spun off by parent Florida East Coast Industries (which continues to own Brightline). As of the present there remain 11 out of 24 units still in Champion paint, though five of those were offline in Mexico working on sister road FXE but are enroute back to home rails.
