The council offices at the junction of Euclid Street and Clarence Street. The building was orginally a school.
Since there is no boardwalk, I was worried there would be nothing to do. I could not have been more wrong. There were so many shops, eateries, parks, flowers, and things to see. I became fascinated with the architecture and photographed every house in a 5 mile radius. On the beach, there was a roaming gang of giant seagulls that loot from people's bags. Also visited other parts of the Cape, which will be in separate albums as this one will already be insanely large.

Numerous Anglo-Saxon and Irish monks came to copy manuscripts. At Charlemagne's request Pope Adrian I sent distinguished chanters from Rome, who propagated the use of the Gregorian chant. Today the library at the Abbey is considered one of the richest medieval libraries in the world.
The floor plan of the original Carolingian Benedictine abbey is preserved. During the late 17th cent the 9th cent church was replaced by an early Baroqu e wonder.

On this grounds, until a few years ago, stood the mighty Entrepot, the Royal Warehouses which were a magnificent landmark.
This unique was demolished by developers, backed by an irresponsible city government, to make way for assorted modern cotteries.
I hope there was nobody in those offices. It'd be miserable having to go into work on a Sunday morning.
As we passed by, I waved to my wife who works in this building, but she didn't see me to wave back. :-)
