Test lab, i.e. crappy old machines - but at least I can isolate testers from their phones and people dropping in on them. And at least each machine has 2 monitors and SnagIt. Testing was - rushed. We'd FINALLY gotten in after lunch but had a meeting at 3:30 pm so there wasn't much time to do much but look around and start stressing about how much still needs doing.

Earthquake damaged building on a Walk around the city, May 1, 2014 Christchurch New Zealand.
Demolition work on Christchurch's "distinctive" former civic building is under way. The category-2 heritage building was designed by G A J Hart and opened in 1939 as the Miller's department store.
It featured the South Island's first escalator, which was the biggest in New Zealand at the time.
The five-storey building was refurbished and reopened as the Christchurch City Council chambers in 1980.
The building had been empty since the council moved to premises on Hereford St in August 2010, and the February 2011 earthquake had damaged staircases and cracked some floor plates.

The office of German industrial services company, Ferrostaal, is a showcase of classic modern style rooted in the Bauhaus and reflected in the design concept by the use of materials such as granite, slate, birch, and glass. Classic modern furniture pieces (as well as a few bespoke ones) were also incorporated into the design. The layout—reception, private offices, workstations, conference rooms and a lunchroom—abounds in creative details like concealed, built-in lighting and interlocking linear forms in the ceiling soffits and walls. The largely open plan design offers natural light and views to all employees through perimeter windows, while sophisticated artificial lighting discreetly supplements nature’s own. The design concept, which is predominantly neutral in field colour with few striking accent colours, promises an efficient and visually stimulating environment for Ferrostaal employees and conveys a clear vision of the company’s corporate image.
