After a grey Saturday the weather improved significantly so that we used Sunday for an extended trip to locations north of the Wiehengebirge to visit the Große Torfmoor, a wildlife sanctuary between Lübbecke and Minden in East-Westphalia. The area is a mix of moorland, lakes and small forests and performs perfect Autumn colours at the end of October.

Evenings are coming earlier each day now, as the orange glow from the sunset radiates behind the trees, the orange glow on the limbs shows the season.
Autumn sea view when the sea level has withdrawn revealing some nice formations underneath. Taken in Suomenlinna, Helsinki.

October mornings are often foggy and full of mystery. Everything looks, feels and sounds different. This was shot just after sunrise and only 5 minutes later this area was sunny and clear.

There is hardly a better place in my area to enjoy a perfect Autumn day than the open-air -museum in Detmold. We spent a whole day in beautiful sunshine without a cloud in this lovely location.
The LWL-Freilichtmuseum in Detmold is a great place to learn and experience the world of our ancestors. The open-air-museum is covered with buildings, tools, animals and plants of countryside life in Northwest Germany in the last couple of centuries. An endless source of inspiration for HDR photography.
