L'occupazione dello spazio

...

Any human intervention on the territory makes it potentially anthropized, because it modifies it in a way that can have repercussions in the biological or spatial field in the short or long term. Geography, as a discipline, in addition to studying the physical environment, studies anthropic phenomena and their impact on the natural environment.

Who knew that the Brits invaded and occupied poor Iceland in WW II? I didn't until I coincidentally came across this dilapidated jetty in Hvalfjördur.

Further research turned out that the jetty was part of a maintenance base for British ships and that the UK preemptively occupied Iceland to hinder Nazi Germany from doing so. Nobody was killed in this invasion and in hindsight, Germany had forfeited any plans to do so.

Sitting for hours with a sign advertising cheap mobile phone repairs right outside of a flagship mobile brand store on Buchanan Street - his posture and the atmosphere of this shot caught my eye. Enjoy!

Previously unpublished image from September 2019.

rain and thunder storm last night, this morning came to check on the weaver 3 nests found two has been dislocated, the weaver still a young one with limited experience, but the third is fine but occupied by this pair of Indian Silverbills.

BTW they never make nests for them selves they always take one of the weavers.

After the success of IDS-Brickworld we are glad to present this group layout created in collaboration with nine Brickz Lab members.

It took us about half a year to plan and build the MOC. In the process, we went from quick sketches to a 3D model which we then recreated in LEGO parts.

The layout is based on the planet Batuu in Star Wars Lore and the Galaxy\'s Edge section in the Disney parks. We tried to translate as many recognizable features from the original reference into LEGO as we could but also left space for our own interpretation of what it should look like.

Noticeable details are the Rock Spires as well as the rounded buildings.

The MOC shows the occupation of the city by the Galactic Empire in it\'s early days just shortly after the events of Revenge Of The Sith. As such we thought it might be fitting to add an A5 Juggernaut to the build as well as vehicles like BARC-speeders and Infantry Support Platforms in gray colour scheme. Find out more about the story HERE

Big thanks to every participant, everyone who gave us feedback while the build was in progress and to all the helpers at the convention who made this collaboration possible.

Many places in the Eastern Front were victims to catastrophic violence and war crimes, Rzhev of the Kalinin Oblast not least among them.

Among some troops, guilt and well-founded anxiety must have festered, until the eradication of the Wehrmacht in the area in March 1943. What was left was subsequently garrisoned by the iron rule of the USSR.

My recreations of soldiers' gear from this dramatic time have a new addition: the Autumn Oakleaf B on the right. This is the sixth iteration of the pattern (across all colorschemes, that is) that I have painted, and the first since owning a Partisan Gorka-E. My finest, without doubt. It's going away to James. The front is painted as a 'Winter Reversible Parka.'

Housekeeping and cooking are primary activities these days/weeks/months. Occasionally the light will catch my eye and then everything stops. I’m lost in those moments. The power of photography.

I just got on board an NU-class shuttle when the lights started flashing. A message was broadcasted.

Thousands of troopers are being deployed across the planet of BATUU. We have been ordered to use all means necessary to assist locals who were plagued with the lies of the Jedi Order. Many of the locals embraced the truth, but some were reluctant to accept it. They believe that these traitors, the people who attempted to assassinate His Lordship, were war heroes, people of wisdom, and their saviors.

The Empire will provide security to the planet, and will not hesitate to use all its resources to help this planet break free of the deceptions of the false Knights!

BATUU

The transport dropped us beside a large town. The warm air filled my lungs as we entered the main gate of the town. Locals stared at us while we marched through the snaking pathways, marking every Jedi statue. People started whispering. I overheard one, they were trying to find out what we were doing with these monuments. One local gathered enough courage to ask. He said: “Sir, what is going to happen to these statues?” The general replied: “The Jedi have committed treason against His Lordship, so they will no longer be respected.” The man looked confused. He shrugged and walked away.

//End of story\\

Hey guys! This MOC was such a pain to build. I started this right after Christmas, and i'm really glad I finished it! I spent most of the time waiting for BrickLink orders, and looking at different concept arts and MOCs of Batuu for inspiration.

The round building was inspired by Dewback Bricks' Black spire MOC, and the red tent was taken from the Batuu collab that a bunch of talented builders participated in.

Excerpt from Cdr. Bannon’s Journal: The locals of Nixor may have avoided imperial attention for a long time, but now they find themselves in the heart of the newly established Triumvirate territory. However, their strategy still work. Their decrepit cities and spaceports have forced us to establish imperial compounds and double patrol efforts to secure both imperial compounds, spaceports and cities. This will work for now, but in time we will establish imperial cities on Nixor.

This build is really just a backdrop for the Imperial Planetary Patrol landspeeder, inspired by this one: starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Imperial_patrol_landspeeder
