Babu, despite his mellow demeanor, suffers from OCD. He's been biting the hair off his tummy for over a year, and it's progressed to parts of his front and back legs and even a little on his shoulders. It's gotten even worse recently, so after a physical (he's perfectly healthy - no allergies or other types of problems), the vet advised a steroid shot. It worked! He stopped biting within 24 hours. The downside is that steroid shots are not a good option long term, so he's also back on medication and we're now the proud owners of a cat pheromone diffuser which is supposed to work wonders for uptight kitties. Hopefully he can ease off the steroid and stay cool with the meds and pheromones.
It's really funny to me that the steroid shot works since his problem is all behavioral. Maybe he has "roid-rage" now and feels he can now kick the ass of whatever's upsetting him. :-)
He's such a sweet boy. I really hope we can get a handle on his problem.
"“Obsessions: “The house will burn down because I left the stove on”, “I made a mistake”, “I will get robbed because I left the doors unlocked.”, “What if I said something that offended someone?”
Compulsions: Excessive checking of doors, locks, appliances, belongings, data entry, quality of work, etc, seeking ongoing reassurance from others that everything is “OK”, mentally replaying conversations over and over again.” "

One of my favorite baby toys/music box of when I was a child. Probably over 30 years old... I was surprised that it still played the music.
i was just observing around the plaza in san jose, costa rica and i saw this homeless man.. pretty sure he was obsessive compulsive. he kept filling his water bottle and then emptying it.. and repeating over and over.

Remy hides in the little cave/tunnel at the base of one of the condos and rips out hunks of his fur sometimes. When he was first on the Clomicalm, and it had yet to take effect, was when we noticed that he hid his destructive behaviour.
