Sorry, I'm obsessed with myself. Just you wait, you guys, 'til you get older. And then you start looking at old pictures. It's shocking. Very bittersweet.

Obsessions was what my theme was based around and a well known obsession towards the body is to loose weight.
From a young age children are shown that 'the thiner the better'. from magazines to movies, it is always there reminding you of the urgency to become slim.
However there is always a limit and some people turn a diet into a life plan, putting it in their heads that they have to be skinny that they cannot eat.
This painting here is showing the obsession to become skinny, to take away whats not needed, because thats what society wants.
The position and the size of the painting shows vulnerability and shame, struggle and sadness.
I realized recently that I really need to rotate the contents of the front of my fridge, but before I do, I figured I'd better post the VERY COMIC STRIP that began my obsession with the serial strips. My gateway was Rex Morgan, MD.....soon I moved on to Mary Worth, and now I'm heavily engrossed in the hard stuff--GIL THORP!
