Yet another obsession is with back lit wings, especially swans. So when this one headed my way, I positioned myself, and got this shot of one wing..
In the one below the lens caught too much direct sunlight, but I still like the shape of the wings.
I still find the noise of the flapping wings incredible -- they sound as though they need a good oiling.

Photos and textures used are my own.
Recently, 煎堆 or Jian Dui was introduced to me over dim sum and since then, I have been hooked. The toasted exterior along with the various textures, leading to the soft, sweetened filling makes it all delightful to end... or in my case begin a meal.
digital art 2011
This is a image I did some time back in photo shop.It resonated with me immediately but I always thought that there should be "more".After playing around with it for about a year and creating at least 50 variants from it I still find that I am strangely attracted back to the original......!
OK. I think it is safe to say I have an obsession with this.
Even though I can't imagine going out and spending $400 for a water drop kit (although I won't completely rule it out), I will be investing in some other means of sending the drops on their way. I've been using the same dropper over the last few days and the results, I think, have become a little stagnant.
Thanks, again, everyone for the Explore on yesterday's drop and the day before. I can't believe how much those blew up, but I really do appreciate it!
I'll provide a setup explanation for this one today. A piece of orange poster board behind the 12" skillet the water was in. A Yongnuo YN-560 at 1/8 power lighting the background. Another Yongnuo YN-560 camera right at 1/16 power. Neither flash diffused in any way. I triggered the flashes using slave mode and the pop-up flash on my Nikon D7000 set at -3.0...
Thanks again everyone!
The unconscious obsession that we photographers have is that wherever we go we want to find the theme that we carry inside ourselves.

RBMN NRHT, a train that I've always really liked for it's unique purpose, serving one customer that only gets 3-4 cars a week. After the NS East Palestine wreck, Reading and Northern started the NRHT service which would run north out of Reading to Hometown to serve a plant there that gets chemical filled tank cars. The train, when loaded, is set to a 25 mile per hour speed restriction. A caboose and ample buffer cars make this train pretty much immune to such disaster that was seen in East Palestine. This train almost harks back to the Reading Company's "Bee Line Service" Where customers would call the railroad with a couple hour notice saying they needed served and a train would be dispatched to switch the customer. This was for direct competition with trucks in it's day on Readings very centralized and cramped system. However today's rendition is more of a safety precaution.
When I first shot the train 2 years ago they were using a patched caboose and an SD50. Tomorrow I'll be going after them with the same caboose but painted and likely nothing more than a geep. Always something neat happening on this railroad in an age of disappointment with class ones...

obvious why 'cheerful'. 'obsession', because, well, you know. it has flea market fancy in it (and a little katie jump rope).

OMG. last year I was also obsessed by these little yellow gems. I think I photograhed Lo in them more than once and thought of doing myself in them as well.
guess what? it's that time of the year again and I can't get enough of these yellow weeds!!! I passed these on the freeway the other day and had to hunt them down today. when I *finallly* found them... I had to truck myself, my gear, lo, and a chair about one city block to get to the center of them. but honestly, worth every painful breath ;) i love these things ;) i wish i had someone else to photograph in them. well... a few lo's ones will be along shortly ;)
