Rilakkuma aka "relax" bear, the larger and lazy brown bear.

Rilakkuma's favorite foods include rice cake, pancakes, and doughnuts. :)

Child or bento-sized hashi. Bullet train, Crayon Shin-Chan, Bear. The bear one is sort of a strange neon-y pink. Cash value $1 US apiece; I took off the price tags to show the design.

Smiling face bento ^^

Don't know they're piggy or bunny^^; What do you think?

The bf got up on the wrong side of the bed this morning, and here's my bento commentary on that.

Sandwich: bologna, cheese, lettuce. Red bell pepper eyebrows and cheese/edamame eyes. Broccoli at base to keep the sandwich from moving around.

Veggies: carrots and edamame with Green Goddess dressing. I put his initial in the dressing just in case he was unclear about who I was referring to with this one.

Dessert: Two homemade chocolate chip cookies and a fruit leather.

Very warm today. I stayed home and practice to make bento.

I totally forgot to upload this one...I took the photo in April. Well...

This was my bento for hanami in a Japanese garden nearby. It was wonderful there! The bento looks a bit messy, but it tasted delicious ;)

Mini-sausages, rolled up cheese, carrot-stick, kiwi, mini-salad and wrapped cookies.

Matoryosika;Russian nesting doll bento was not easy to make. It's like a ninja girl(><)

One of samples bento for the bento class.

A visit to Nijiya grocery in San Jose’s Japantown yielded supplies to make a fine dinner in our trusty bento boxes. Yes, that’s fresh grated wasabi root at the center - so good and not like the green reconstituted paste. And yes, that’s a fork in the rice - I didn’t want to miss a single grain.

It's bento day today. But he has a slight caugh and will eat this at home.

Very simple hello kitty.Easier to make before.

My boys are in winter holiday.

Here in Saitama where is near from Tokyo, it was really cold yesterday. I can't wait the warm spring!!

This is my bento for Heron Day (that's my own holiday, not unlike Mr. Costanza's Festivus, and it's a long story). I didn't have the stuff to do what I wanted (a great blue heron), but I had plenty of egg so I made a great white heron.

Happy Heron Day!

Fried rice with some ketchup. My boys really love tangerin and ate tangerines on breakfast today.

Mame ushi means a cow like a beans.(mame=beans, ushi = cow) He is a charactor in the children's book.

I think I was angry at this bento the entire time I was making it. The bamboo shoots I was using for the neck just didn't cooperate- you can see how it's bending a little. If I had it to do over I'd have gone a different way.

The whole time I was doing this, I was thinking of Tadanobu Asano in Electric Dragon 80,000V. "Guitaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhh!"

I just blogged about this here:http://akacontrariwise.blogspot.com/2008/10/friday-downloads-oct-10-crafts.html

ちょっと前のお弁当だけどー

As I said, I chickened out on the design. More notes about the label.

Everyday I made trial piggy bento for the charaben class. This piggy bento is unsuccessful.(or goes wrong ?)

Their name is luckypig. I have some good of them.

This is my brunch. I'll eat this bento now!!

Side face penguin onigiri. The beaks are made of sausage.
