Had an awesome weekend. The wife and I went shopping. After trying for a long time to find a white denim skirt ...... I scored. So fun going into the dressing room with my wife and trying on clothing. She bought a dress and I get my long coveted white denim skirt. I may have it shortened a couple inches. I'm wearing Hanes Alive pantyhose and my favorite sandals.
I’ve talked before about how RHT nylons combined with mules affect me… I think this look comes across as a bit slutty or cheap, but that’s exactly what makes it all the more erotic for me. I remember earlier decades when bored housewives, wearing RHTs and high-heeled mules, waited for the mailman so he could fuck them senseless. Realizing that the chief weakness of stockings lay in their vulnerability to garter runs, Mr. Summerfield's company invented a technology that prevented garter runs from going the length of the stocking. Gold-dyed thread at the lockstitch prompted the name for the new ''Gotham Gold Stripe'' stockings.
By 1925, Gotham had become a publicly owned company listed on the New York Stock Exchange. By 1929, Gotham was the nation's leading hosiery manufacturer, and as sales grew, Mr. Summerfield's reputation and legacy were assured.
By the 1940’s a synthetic fabic named Nylon by DuPont would replace silk as the top material for Women’s hosiery and Gotham Gold Stripe Nylons became a fashion statement.
In 1946, the demand for nylon stockings could not be satisfied, which led to the Nylon Riots. In one case, an estimated 40,000 people lined up in Pittsburgh to buy 13,000 pairs of nylons, leading to fights breaking out. It took several months before DuPont was able to ramp up production to meet demand.
