My second attempt at photographing Manhattanhenge from 5/30/2023, and this one was a success! I was advised by a fellow photographer the previous night to come very early, not 6pm as I originally planned. After walking to Chinatown for breakfast and back, I arrived at Tudor City Bridge a little after 10 and there were already 5 photographers set up with all their tripods right along the bridge; some had been there since 8:30 am. I scolded myself for not showing up immediately after I had first woken up (at 6:30), but I still had a decent spot. So for the next 10 hours or so, I stood there with my tripod and cameras set up and got to listen and learn from the other photographers.

But the sunset was just a small treat compared to when Neil Degrasse Tyson made his appearance. I brought my copy of his book for him to sign, and he actually drew the Manhattanhenge inside the book!!
