The NYCDOT Art Program and the International Studio & Curatorial Program (ISCP) presented “Sky Feather,” a 12-foot tall wooden feather sculpture by artist Petros Chrisostomou on the median between 124th and 125th Streets and Lenox Avenue in Manhattan. Even though feathers are fragile and virtually weightless, in this particular context, the feather feels dense and monumental because of the artist’s use of materials and scale. Petros typically works with object and context relationships and aims at taking an object from one aspect of society and juxtaposing it within different environments.
