Rebecca Nurse (Æ 71), accused and hanged as a witch in the Witch Hysteria of 1692 that swept through the area of Salem Village. The Crucible by Arthur Miller features Rebecca. Family cemetery is down in the back field. Also buried here is George Jacobs, another victim. His remains were recovered in another area and re-interred here. Superstition, rumor and fear of the unknown....this a reminder what can happen.

Along the nature trail on the Delaware Highlands Conservancy Bethel office grounds. A nurse log is a fallen tree which, as it decays, provides ecological facilitation to seedlings.
