So hard to explain...this book is a wondrous work of art, political, supernatural, witty, and a spoof on horror films...I ate it up!

This house was built as a pair with No. 12, possibly to the designs of Edward Lovett Pearce. The house was leased to William Stewart, 3rd Viscount Mountjoy. Recently restored, the interior retains a Portland stone stair with wrought-iron balustrade and timber wainscoting throughout, in addition to some notable Rococo plasterwork. Now in office use, the house forms an important part of what has been described as 'Dublin's Street of Palaces' and greatly contributes to the improving fortunes of this remarkable streetscape.

For those unfamiliar with the face... this is George Osborne, the Tory Chancellor of the Exchequer here in the UK.
Mr Osborne is my number one pet hate (from an ever growing list).
Regardless of my obvious political bias... I just cannot stand this fellow (and I bet I'm not the only one).
Helen, this is my submission to the "Pet Hate" photo challenge :>)

Yes, I love my 'Niners. Even though they're not exactly doing so hot lately. To put it nicely. What can I say? I've been a fan ever since I started watching football. Even though I've never been to a 49ERS game at the 'Stick (though yes, I did see the SF Giants play a few times there woohoo!), I watched as many games as possible on TV. I remember watching when Joe Montana was quarterback, though I really got into it when Steve Young took over and Joe went to KC. And during the lead-up to Super Bowl XXIX, I was just as excited as any other 'Niner fan out there. After we moved up here to WA, obviously I couldn't watch the games nearly as much anymore. I can probably count on both hands the number of times I've seen a 49ERS game on TV while living here. *But* I have gone to two actual 49ERS games here! Of course, they played the Seachickens...
That's where I was last Monday night (and why I was dressed like this. I don't normally wear plastic pig-tails. ;) With my son, at Qwest Field. Wow, that was interesting. Besides the frustration with an usher who couldn't understand or speak english well enough to tell me where the heck Guest Services was so I could check my stroller in (yeah, I had my 11mo. old girl too) and trying to find a parking spot anywhere within 10 miles of the stadium, and everything else... Seahawks fans are crazy!! With apologies to my friends who are Seahawks fans and *don't* fit into this category (because you are actually sane people) the guys at the stadium were just ... crazy! One guy was actually in the process of getting arrested when we arrived to take the elevator up to our level, and once we got to our seats a bunch of drunk Canadian Seahawks fans (all wearing Shawn Alexander jerseys; how original!) turned around in their seats and let loose with some of the foulest language imaginable and the double-bird, at the 'Niners fans sitting directly behind my son and me. Um, hey - thanks a lot for that!
I have to say, I will *not* be going back with any kids with me, if I ever go back. Sadly, this was not our first negative experience with Seahawks fans. The last time we went it was my husband and me, with our oldest daughter (who was just a baby at the time). Wow, the people around us were so rude and vulgar... Whatever happened to respect? I don't mind teasing and trash-talking, but f-bombs and such is completely unnecessary.
Anyway... no matter what anyone says, I'll always be a 'Niner fan. The good times may be behind us, but the best may be yet to come! Though probably not for a few years yet...

The Phantom is a long-running American adventure comic strip, first published by Lee Falk in February 1936. The principal character, the Phantom, is a costumed crimefighter who operates from the fictional African country of Bangalla. The character has been adapted into many media, including television, film, video games and paperback novels.
In this particular novel, few people would dare to venture into the deadly reaches of the Great Swamp. The few who had entered into its mists had never emerged to tell of their experiences. Yet, if one knew the Great Swamp and knew how to survive, no better hiding place could be found. So, it is there that a pack of ruthless escaped convicts set up their headquarters, leaving them free to plunder the surrounding areas. They called themselves the Swamp Rats, and the Phantom is the only man who could meet the dual challenge of this evil gang and the treacherous swamp.
