My husband's cousin went to pick these wasabi stalks with flowers today, and before she kneads them with salt, then blanch and then marinate in vinegar, I asked her if I could take its photo:)

Your contributions to the BCA Pool of Hope will benefit the efforts of the Susan G. Komen 3-Day for the Cure. The Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation uses these funds for breast cancer research and community-based breast health and education programs, decreasing breast cancer incidence and mortality.
The 2010 BCA Pool of Hope Charity raised over L$ 1.025 million which occurred July 24th through October 10th. The events started with the BCA Music Festival with approximate donations of L$ 82,600, BCA Date Auction L$ 649,950, BCA Art Auction with L$190,000 and BCA Fair for a Pair with L$ 72,500.

This place is actually swarming with butterflies but it didnt register well in the photo. All blurred and small.
Ookunitama Shrine / Fuchu-city Tokyo Japan
The wooden nosings (kibana) at the ends of penetrating tie beams are decorated with moldings known as 'kurigata'.
It is a typical new Japanese architectural style building in the Kamakura period, adopting Daibutsu-yo (Buddhist architectural style) for the designs, etc. of doors (sangarado, paneled entrance doors introduced from China) and kibana (the end of the beam penetrating a pole) of kashira-nuki (head rail) with decorative carving at the end of the timber, while using the Japanese architectural style as its base.
Just walking the path in front of me as I live the journey. Hoping to find something over the other side.

Great Photowalk in San Clemente!
Thanks to everyone that came out for a beautiful sunset in San Clemente! I was happy to meet you all and hope you had a good time. Victor from Typical Shutterbug put up a post with a link to a Flickr group where you can share your photos.
Daily Photo - 1,000 Red Gates
What a wonderful and unique place on earth this is! In Kyoto, Japan, there resides the unique shrine of Fushimi Inari. It consists of thousands of red gates that wind up and down the mountain. I walked through it deep into the night.... I was the only one around and it was downright eerie. Every now and then, the gates would stop and there would be a mini-shrine off to one side or a graveyard to another. Both of these added to the creep factor.
I had a serious worry about an hour into the hike through these gates -- what if they turn off the lights? I had no flashlight! I considered my two options -- I could strobe my SB-800 to find my way out, which would be a totally surreal experience through these gates. Or, I could do what one of my Israeli hiker friends did in Argentina, use the back of my camera display for light (he actually used his to set up his tent)!
