There's a city in my mind

Come along and take that ride and it's alright

And it's very far away

But it's growing day by day and it's alright

Oh, we're on a road to nowhere, oh, come on inside

Taking that ride to nowhere, oh, we'll take that ride

I'm feeling okay this morning and you know

We're on the road to paradise, here we go, here we go

We're on a road to nowhere, oh, come on inside

Taking that ride to nowhere, oh, we'll take that ride

Maybe you wonder where you are, I don't care

Oh, here is where time is on our side

Take you there, take you there

And there's a city in my mind

Come along and take that ride, it's alright

And it's very far away

But it's growing day by day and it's alright

Would you like to come along?

You can help me sing that song and it's alright

They can tell you what to do

But they'll make a fool of you and it's alright, it's alright

"Everything has its limit, including sorrow.

The gaze gets stuck in the window, like a leaf in a fence.

You can pour water. Jingle the keys.

Loneliness is a person squared..."

Joseph Brodsky

A collection of wooden doors used to reinforce a backyard fence in a neighborhood. They have been there for many years, broken, worn out and getting you nowhere, just for decoration. I took this photo because they were moving out and the real patio door was open.

(Sorry, no bar 🍺 in the other side)

When I passed this fence, the song "Road to nowhere" by the Talking Heads, came immediately in my head ;-))

Happy Fence Friday everyone ;-))

Sweet ocean liner, come and anchor down

Sea of forgiveness, see what I have found

It's long and lanky, awkward at times

I'm going nowhere if you get the time

And it's a long hard road 'til I can get to you

And I'll be holding on, hoping the sun comes shining through

I'm going nowhere if you get the time

I'm going nowhere, you're on my mind

I took to driving, see what I would find

A place in history, a little peace of mind

I know what you're thinking, I know just what you mean

I'll never be whole again until I get clean

And it's a long hard road 'til I can get to you

And I'll be holding on hoping the sun comes shining through

I'm going nowhere if you get the time

I'm going nowhere, you're on my mind

I'm going nowhere. Won't you stop by?

I'm going nowhere if you get the time

Abandon bridge in Live Oak Florida. Suwannee Springs Bridge, dub "The Bridge To Nowhere," is off of a country road in Live Oak, Florida. The Suwanee River is a 246 mile-long wild blackwater river that flows from South Georgia into Florida. I took a few drone shots and met some festive locals. The bridge is now a favorite of graffiti artist who pop by to tag the bridge.

A bit like I've felt this past year!

and because there's nowhere to go but everywhere, and keep rolling under the stars:-)

It was perhaps a poor attempt, but was an attempt nonetheless to hide from the man with the camera. Gambel's Quail, Patagonia, AZ.

Another try with GIMP. This time there is something more than a little post-processing: so this place exists only in my mind! There is no lake over that hill! :D In this case I think it's just a image processing and no more photography.

Taken last weekend as this was on my journey home. Light had faded but quite liked the soft colours.

Shot here before but never got a good sunset, so this is the closest I got. Bass Rock and North Berwick Law visible in the shot.

Taken at 30mm F16 for 120 seconds.

I remembered someone taking this shot and using car headlights to light up the bridge. I had a go at this but in the fading light I kept the lights on the bridge too long so not sure about it, but might post later.

This water pump station might have seen its better days,

but this is how I love to photoshoot buildings,

when they have a story to tell.

Oh, I know, I'm not out of the woods yet

But I'm pushing into the light ahead and it feels good

Oh, the years that you've stolen, I'm taking back

I'm spending all my time breaking chains ..♫

Road to Nowhere

Talking Heads 1985

Well, we know where we're goin'

But we don't know where we've been

And we know what we're knowin'

But we can't say what we've seen

And we're not little children

And we know what we want

And the future is certain

Give us time to work it out

We're on a road to nowhere

Come on inside

Takin' that ride to nowhere

We'll take that ride

I'm feelin' okay this mornin'

And you know

We're on a road to paradise

Here we go, here we go

We're on a ride to nowhere

Come on inside

Takin' that ride to nowhere

We'll take that ride

Back in June this very cute little guy I spotted in my garden trying to hide away in amongst the Mint plants. We had a lot of insects come to the area this Summer which was a good sign and I hope it continues next year as well. As much as we had an invasion of Aphid the Ants and Ladybirds were also there to balance out the odds.

I hope everyone had a great weekend and so always, thank you! :)

There is no town, no village, no gas station there. The road I was parking on ended 10 meters behind me. Being curious I drove just under the bridge to the other side - the road ended there as well at a heap of rocks. The only explanation I have: In reality, the rocks the road ends at hide an entrance to a top secret facility like Stargate.
