...lol.... I know I screwed this one up a bit, cause you can ee the flaws here and there, but hey, I know I should try more, but I'm a lazy ass...sorry! lol, I had fun making these :)

everybody have an amazing week-end! \m/

here's a song that matches with my mood

developed myself

Back in November I had the pleasure of meeting up with Lloyd Austin who I had been on photoshoots with on previous occasions, plus we have a go at putting the world to rights.

I then eagerly awaited the arrival of Dom Houghton, raconteur, explorer and long standing photographer. Someone who I had not had the pleasure of meeting previously.

As you can imagine I was somewhat nervous at the prospect.

However my fears were soon allayed as Dom came into view.

He looked like a cross between ‘Biggins’ and the ‘Mad Hatter’ who had been through a car wash and the drying cycle was out of action.

It was a challenging afternoon weather wise to put it mildly.

Following hilarious introductions, we decided to brave the heavy rain and wonder down to this magnificent beach which in my opinion has a certain aura about it.

The weather conditions were not good, so Lloyd and I spent most of the afternoon sheltering behind a large rock. We were as happy as Larry discussing local beers and the like.

Credit to Dom he threw caution to the wind, or was it rain, maybe a bit of both and started photographing everything he could train his lens on at this location.

Around the time the sun should have set, the rain eased slightly, so Lloyd and I made a dash for it.

Think I took 8 shots in total this being one of them.

As the light faded the 3 of us trudged back to our vehicles.

The inbuilt windscreen wipers on our wet suits working overtime.

A great afternoon spent in the company of 2 wonderful people.

Certain people on Flickr were brought up in conversation during the afternoon, if your ears were burning, tough.

Looking forward to our next adventure Lloyd and Dom

Hope you all have a wonderful weekend, though it sounds a case of batten down the hatches again.

Playing around with the sheer drapes and experimenting with light and shadows...

unlike those big headed blythes! LOL

slippers for a friend... the girls are trying them out!

sorry for the slipper spam!

deep red/black and forest/peppermint green slippers

weekend visit to check my tiny picture sales stall at a cafe nearby

... it's good exercise!

since I have a front loader and not a traditional agitator type washing machine!

soapy bath to get the fibres all confused,

alternating with hot and cold water baths to again, shock and confuse fibres and get them to matt.

finally, a short fabric softner rinse to take away the wet wool smell! and make them fresh for clean toes!

of the slipper..

typically, I've done the whole base of the slipper, helps "preserve" the bottom, however it requires a lot of handsewing and also uses tons of leather! especially a size 10.5!

this prevents slipping hopefully. Maybe some on heel would be good too? maybe next ones!

The girl inside of me knocks on my ribs

Rattling the ivory bars of her cage

She begs for a moment of freedom

And a chance to explain herself on this page

But I’ve worked too hard on my reputation

To hand her the key and let her escape

Her cries echo the hollows of my heart

And so I pull out the duck tape

love making these!

green = knit in Medium, but Lopi wool

red = knit in Large, but regular wool

both felted to same size.

green is softer, lighterweight and doesn't hold it's shape as well, won't be using Lopi for these much anymore, unless I want them soft and squishy!

after 30 mins.

... of plunging, alternating in hot and cold water baths, soapy bath and a final fabric softner rinse...

some more random things from my head, some of my drawings were done on a bus or in a car, therefore, a bit squiggly

* if you look closely you can see a drawing I did of squish ans squash before they both passed. <3

I tend to think i have pretty good tension, however, I must have have had slightly different tension when making these two.

I tend to knit loose to begin with and my tension changes I suppose depending on when I knit, where and in what mood I am in.

top one is ever so slghtly smaller... but it could be just eh variance in the "bumper"

Nice idea Mr Tesco, shame some of the fruit looked well past its best.

And while the Tim Tam might be Australia's Favorite Cookie (and they are very delicious), it does not do well topping a brownie. They compete rather than complement each other.

This was Seth's idea. I just implemented it.

The bandit is back! For the record, it's been a few weeks since I adjusted the bird feeders height and distance to keep the little rascals at bay. But this fella has figured out a path to get to the tall feeder (yes--I've moved something around to prevent it now). He was at least eating out of the "critter feeder" first. He came over to the glass door to check me out...

FYI: After much research, I found that you can't get ride of them, but you can live with them. Secret is they don't jump--so as long as there's no hand (paw?) hold within two feet, they won't reach for it. Problem here was some squirrels earlier in the day moved a couple of things around on the pole and made a path for him...

oops... forgot to take after photos of same! doh! next time!

misty early morning in the Lancaster, Pennsylvania area...I was sitting at the Sheetz and couldn't resist this shot, although I know full well that the Amish prefer not to be photographed. Dad and the lads bought 5 gallons of kerosene in a plastic bucket and trotted off into the mist.....and the truck just drove away when the light changed.

green one is flatter than the red one..

green is Lopi yarn, experimental, quite soft, but unfortunately did not hold it's shape as well as the alpaca/wool red ones!

likely will not use Lopi again, which is a shame, since I seem to have a huge stash of it in the above and an evergreen colour!

Greenpeace forest defenders have been setting up photo booths outside of Best Buys stores around Canada, asking the public, and asking best buy customers, to encourage Best Buy to do better!

Each year, Best Buy sources as much as 100 million pounds of paper from Canada’s Boreal Forest. This is a massive amount! Instead of sourcing their paper sustainably, Best Buy risks trashing ancient forests for throw-away flyers. This is bad news for the climate, bad news for species like the woodland caribou, and bad news for the overall health and diversity of our forests.

although not planned!

red-knit in size L womens, turns out 10.5 ments

green-knit in size M womens, but it turned out a 10.5 as well, is supposed to be an 8, but Lopi didn't felt like "regular" 100% sheeps wool... something about the Lopi icelandic wool.. it is 100% wool as well, but I guess their sheeps are different!

plunging hard, makes the fibres stretch and get completely confused.

the fibres stretch and become much longer than the original size, so don't be alarmed!

Ha! You're looking at some fail here guys. Turned on my brother's lava lamp down in Wollongong to take some snaps, after an hour it still hadn't loosened up. Came back and faced my failure 10 minutes before getting picked up to head out to dinner so I had no choice but to take some photos of a static lava lamp. Not terribly interesting, terribly fail.

Not the best picture from a phone camera but she looked too cute to pass it by. This is after her shave and before her bath and scissoring.

I took Blueberry for a walk around the lake on my lunch break today. It has been raining since yesterday so I tried to time it during the lighter time, but we still hade some rain. Blueberry had fun and wanted to chase all the birds & squirrels. It was not a good day to leave my camera home.

You would think that the rain would cool things off, but we were still hot & sweaty afterwards. It did take the edge off as the sune was not out, but the humidity was high.
