Santa Claus (North Pole, AK)

ARTHROPOLIS (http://www.athropolis.com/) is a GREAT resource for those interested in weather, geography, people, and other happenings in the North. Their main page is cluttered and dated - but dig around and you'll find much more about the few things posted in this album - as that's where I got most of it!!

Circumpolar North - The Geomagnetic North Pole: The Arctic Circle is known to most people as the spot where the sun never sets on June 21, the summer solstice, and the spot where the sun never rises on December 21, the winter solstice. Actually, the Arctic Circle location varies by 2.5 degrees of latitude on a 40,000 year cycle. Currently the location is moving northward about 25 feet a year.
