The Pont de Normandie spans the mouth of the River Seine at the port city of Le Havre (Normandy). The bridge has a total length of more than 2.1 kilometres and a main span of 856 metres. The pylons are 215 metres high and the bridge deck is a maximum of 59 metres above the River Seine, making it quite a steep bridge, with a slope of 6%.
It was three full, exquisite, splendid days, a real honeymoon.
They were at the Hôtel de Boulogne, on the port. And they lived there, shutters closed, doors closed, with flowers on the floor and syrups on ice, which were brought to them in the morning.
Towards evening they took a covered boat and went to dine on an island.
At nightfall, they left. The boat followed the edge of the islands. They remained in the background, both hidden by the shadows, without speaking.
