If in town, go check HKT's Next to Normal. Two and half hours very well spent, and not just because of an excellent piece of cake (the mandatory weekend carbos) during the intermission. Moving drama with Jonna Järnefelt, I am spoiled :)

A change in scenery from my normal haunts had me parking the car at the Tharwa Sandwash recently.
I,d never been to this location before but a couple of the better Canberra photographers had recommended it to me to see Rainbow Bee-eaters. Well, no such luck with the Bee-eater. However, 4 new species in one go was even better. There was this bird, Hooded Robin, Black-fronted Dotterel and Diamond Firetail Finch.
A great day out indeed!
