Longer summer days do produce good sunset timing for the normal 338 departure out of Waterloo. Here 338 dips thru the hogback at MP 256 minutes after the sun has set.
... or, as normal as it gets 'round here!
Stella and Peregrin were put back onto their own bodies today, and got their pics taken on the porch. There's still some great autumn colour out there, so it was perfect timing.
Stella's outfit actually arrived way back in Sept, when Peregrin's new head came in. I LOVE this adorable little dress set! So addicted to the beautiful Volks stuff! Wow! It was nice to finally get one of the girls into it, and show it off. <3
This loon family was in our bay this year a couple of weeks ago. It was breezy, cloudy, and cool -- record cold, in fact, on this Friday. High was in the upper 50's, old record was 62, and average was 81 degrees F (July 17). Everyone else left the resort early because of the cold. Our family always stays until Saturday morning.
But the sun did come out in the late afternoon, so I stalked these loons one more time in my kayak. :) It was tricky with the wind and moving subjects/kayak. It was challenging to get all four lined up together, without them looking in all directions, strayed apart, or with their heads/bodies under water. The camera's shutter was very slow to recharge, too.
I've been trying out my newer Kodak Z980. Not sure if I like it that much yet.
