Walking clears the mind.
As our senses are activated through walking and being in nature, we listen to what is happening inside ourselves more clearly.

Photo 3 - Nice to meet you Sue and Vic, I knocked on the roof and was invited in for some soap which I declined because I was so hot from running along the towpath, but I had to have some of Sue’s homemade bread.

For about 3 years I have been a follower of the blog “Retirement with No Problem”
noproblem.org.uk/blog/ The internet diary of a couple Vic and Sue, who retired from the family business to live on a traveling narrow boat “No Problem”, they move each day along the canals of England. Sue originally began the blog so that the family back home in Portsmouth would be able to follow them and now its well read by other boaters because it keeps up to date with anything from the location for the best fuel prices, signs of damage to the canal or near by facilities and a detailed review of the visited pubs food and drink.
Reading the blog I found that they are travelling through the Birmingham area over the weekend, I wanted to find them and introduce myself but I knew it would be almost impossible because they move so quick and they could be anywhere on the city canal system, in fact I tried to find them last year without success. Last week Sue blogged that they are going through the 21 locks at Wolverhampton and I then knew I could find them along that stretch because it takes a few hours to navigate through a small area.

Neat trick for avoiding wet feet when crossing deep puddles - just remember to have several bricks handily stowed in your pocket!
Snapped in in a damp Riga alley.

I've been down to Letchworth about 40 times and this was the first time in history that the rather strong wind was blowing away from both the Upper and the Middle Falls.
Got up a little earlier today to catch the sunrise...and a fence for Fence Friday! Rarely do I shoot directly into the sun, but I couldn't resist that luminous haze today! (and a wee bit of flare!;)
HFF you all!!!

My wife and I took a trip to Green Lake, Wisconsin on my 60th birthday to see Paul Thorn perform at the Thrasher Opera House, and then captured some abandonment on our way back home. Thanks to my buddy El Tidy for the directions.
A cool way to view mine or anyone else's photostream is on fluidr.
christmas eve took on an old fashioned feel with oil lamps, the woodstove and carols on the radio...
The island is beautiful
The island is being exploited
I learned I don't like being a tourist.
I like being a visitor.
I learned I love the island.
Just chill ,relax, don't sweat it. In the "Big Picture" will it matter 5 years from now? Don't stress.Life is too short.Cast down all your cares, for He cares for you. 1 Peter5:7
Representatives from various motocycle clubs in full regalia, seen at the Johannesburg Bikers Festival held at the newly renovated Kyalami racetrack.
Thought that looking through 9 images of biker's waistcoats might be a bit much for the average viewer so thought I'd capture them all in one. Used the unsupported but free MS Expression Design 4 program to lay it out.
Sous les arbres et sans trépied, les nuages défilent sous un ciel étoilé pour 30 secondes d'exposition.
Under the trees and without a tripod, i set my exposure to 30 seconds and watch the clouds pass under a starry night.
Non-Cape May shot here...
Spring's around the corner and it's time to get back into shape.
This shot was from when I lived in New York City, right before moving to Cape May. I had been sick with a serious stomach virus that laid me up for a miserable one week hospital stay, and feeling like complete crap when I checked out, I decided to see what physical transformation I could achieve in 3 months.
Not sure why, but at the time I decided to track the full process in complete detail.from start to finish via photos, measurements, journal entries, and detailed records etc.
I'm not formally trained in fitness or nutrition but through the 3 months I learned exactly what worked and what didn't. Great knowledge to own because you realize getting back into great shape is only a short commitment of time and energy away, once you have the confidence to engage a simple results oriented plan of attack. It certainly was a fun experience and my gym at the time— the Reebok Club — featured me in their corporate newsletter — really cool. A ton of people wanted to know how I did it and it was fun sharing what I had learned.
Since I'm carrying extra pounds on the tail end of the winter season (ha! aren't we all), I post this shot to help fuel my own remotivation and comitment to get back into shape.
Now (today, right now) I have no excuses.
