Wir haben die Karnevalstage an der stürmischen Nordsee in Noordwijk verbracht. Wir hatten Regen, Sturm mit Boen bis 100 km/h und zum Glück am Sonntag Nachmittag auch mal kurz Sonne. Die Kite-Surfer haben das stürmische Wetter genutzt und sind bei Wassertemperaturen von 7° C über das Meer "geflogen".

Some amateur fisherman have a bit of the the guts and the stamina the professional ones have. This one was standing in the hard wind blowing from the south-west.
Amateur fishing (in Holland called ‘sportvisserij’) is a very popular pastime. There are some 2 million practioners. A notable feature of the amateur fishery is that it has a broad social appeal and is economic significant with a total turnover of almost 700 million euros a year: amateur fishermen like their gear, travel a lot, rent boats and cabins etc for their hobby.
