I'd like to nominate the tree at the top of Ryle Road in Nether Edge,
because it makes me smile every time I see it.
I'm not even sure what species it is, a Lime I think, but it's its
slightly crazy placement right in the middle of the road at the
junction with Montgomery Road that makes it stand out.

Photo Stuff: I took my new (to me) Canon G15 compact, as at all these events, big cameras are a big No No, I have to say this little camera is a big surprise, not only practical, light and compact to carry, much nicer results than expected, Not my Full Frame Nikon D600 by any stretch, but got the job done, mostly shot RAW, developed in LR4

Wednesday August 14th 2019 Ferguslie Tannahill Centre Own Yer Bike Inaugural Meeting No1.
Today saw the Ferguslie Community Council join forces with “Own Yer Bike” a local group that was set up by Marc Small, himself a community council leader. Who along with their youth members nominated members to positions such as chair person etc as part of their mission statement agenda?
The group have already given away and sold many bikes salvaged and repaired in what could be one of Ferguslie parks local action groups’ success. Only last week the group held an event in and around the Tannahill Centre, that saw a large turnout of adults and children alike, which prompted the Daily Express to splash the story over their centre pages.
Though still in its infancy the group have made contacts far and wide, where they hope to maintain and repair other group’s bikes while their main aim is to get kids off the couch and on their bikes for a healthier lifestyle.
So if you’re looking for a kid’s bike or would love to get involved in any if not all of Ferguslies many groups. You can find Own Your Bike on Facebook, or just pop into the Tannahill Centre for more info and find out what’s going on in your neighbourhood.
A couple of Common Wood Pigeons (Ringdue / Columba palumbus palumbus) nominate - here eating my garden. I suspect it is part of a pair building a nest less than 100m away from my house. It's SO big compared to the birds that usually visit me :-)
From Kongsgårdmoen, Kongsberg (Norway).
Canon 60D, Sigma 150-500mm.
You will find more photos of the same species in my Common Wood Pigeon set.
I’m not so happy with what you get from Flickr’s geotag map, so here are the Google Maps coordinates too.

... was nominated to do a Nature Photography Challenge by Lake Sturgeon. day 1 / 7. [ this is how i always remember you... showed up at the most unlikely place: fresh, golden, straight-forward, beautiful like i never known, with vitality, full of convictions, but somewhat troubled, fragile, very vulnerable... who could resist but to hold near & dear? however, without precursor, you were nowhere to be found... what happened? and still, will always love you, the idea of you... ]
