Day 48 of the 365 days challenge.
Yay for April showers.
I think I gave myself pneumonia taking this picture; currently I'm curled up with my scratchy throat and sore ears underneath a down comforter. Intitially I was going to take the picture with my camera outside and me inside, but it was still raining, and I like my camera more than I like me.
Been thinking a lot about all my favorite old angsty songs. Like Iris, by the Goo Goo Dolls. How's that one go? And I'd give up forever to touch you..
You're beautiful. You're beautiful.
You're beautiful, it's true.
I saw your face in a crowded place,
And I don't know what to do,

not a typically "great" photo, nor a pic where I think I look pretty or anything. You can see the dark patches at the bottom of my eyes, its not focused great and all the rest but screw it. My stream, I pay for it, I want to upload it so I upload it. You dont have to like it but that changes nothing for me.
*start rant*
For a while I got really hooked up on getting comments and faves and such and I thought the amount of comments/faves I got defined how good my image was. Then I remembered sometime recently that who fucking cares. I've seen tons of shit photos get 1000 faves and comments and some absolutely amazing stuff get 3 comments and 2 faves. It doesnt mean 1 is better than the other just cos of its comments and faves - it just means the person is better at being a flickrhustler and getting people to comment their work at those levels. This isnt to take away from those who get 1000 faves and comments cos they are truly good btw! I just no longer care if my pics get 1 comment or 300 comments. If I like it and want to upload it, it's going up, if not, then you'll never see it (even if you may love the image if you did get to see it).
*end rant*
3 years on Flickr! YAY ;-) and how was the yesterday´s celebration? In pain... I had a dental extraction on Friday - my last wisdom tooth is out, there are several stitches in my mouth and having quite a swollen right cheek :´(
Btw I do feel as bad as I look :-p
Hope you had better weekend ;-)

I'm trying 365 again, on a new account this time, so I can go back to my candid descriptors; I don't want to have to explain my tumultuous inner- or home-life to local friends or impending inlaws-- but I'm getting ahead of myself.
Much has happened since I first tried 365, back in 2007.
I left Ohio, as I swore I would, on the timetable I swore I'd leave on. In order to move, I had to give Gwen back to her dad for an indefinite period of time-- I didn't know how long it would take to get back on my feet in a new place. I moved to western Massachusetts, AKA WMass, AKA the pioneer valley. I started dating my best friend. I got pregnant besides the use of almost every single type of birth control (except abstinence! whoops). I got engaged. (The two happened months and months apart, and are less related than you'd guess.) I made amazing friends and lost them. I wrote and published a roleplaying game. My ex got deathly ill when I was 39 weeks along, and S and I had to roadtrip 2400 miles in four days to go pick up Gwendolyn without any warning. I gave birth to Nirali two weeks later.
The four of us live almost entirely within the tiny room that is pictured, wall to wall, in the picture above. Our apartment also has one tiny bedroom, a small kitchen, and a weird and also small bathroom; that's it. We were not prepared for Gwen, so she sleeps like a transient; sometimes in our bed, sometimes in her sleeping bag on the floor, sometimes on our discount ikea couch. Nirali's crib is in the darkness on the far right of the picture. She's three months old.
If everything goes as it should-- if the world doesn't end and we're all still here, if I learn how to be in a relationship, if this time it really is different, I swear-- then when I hit day 365, I will have been married to S for three days. Tonight I'm wide awake four hours after he went to bed, mostly out of pique and spite. It's difficult, with four people in such a small space.
I'm taking this one day at a time. No promises.

Today was just one of those days: stayed in bed and watched movies online. The only productive thing I did today was take a shower.
*Powerful Pink Tuesday*

Today.. I was about to take a shower and then I decided that I should quick do some self portraits.. so with my curls brushed out, and no makeup on.. i set up my camera quickly and took some nakey face pics of myself for this week..

I used to be this girl in the polaroid.
The Polaroid was taken in self portrait during one of my performances, and exhibited at Area gallery in Melb in 2004 as part of an installation and video piece.
I was wearing a wig in the photo
I had bleached my eyebrows
I had bleached my hair peroxide white under the wig
It was taken before the demise of my health.
Much has changed since that photo
4 years has passed and I have been reborn many times, shedding the layers.
Also I am healthy again, & I have let go of the drama that used to be part of my life.
That girl in the Polaroid from 2004 isn't me.
Its just light captured into a photochemical reaction
What you see now on your screen is just pixels
It's not me.
Who am I?
It's not the persona's and archetypes I play with....
Who are you?
It's more than meets the eye.
I hope you are searching for who you are and being true to yourself. The girl in the Polaroid though she was living, but she was holding back. Walking wounded.
Now I'm really living. Healed and whole.
In this photo taken June 11 2008, I am wearing no makeup, I have nothing to hide.
This is me.
I am here.
For now.
My eye's are open this time around.
The actual color of my eye. It's surprisingly hard to take a color-accurate photo of my eye... dunno why. I couldn't get a true color without completely screwing up the rest of the contrast.
Meh, I don't care anymore.
Dude, I start school on Wednesday. I can't believe I'm going to be a senior in high school in less than 2 days.
Day 121 Year 2 Here's my scrunched up face for the FGR theme. As a die hard Yankees fan, this Boston Chuck immediately gets the scrunchy face. It' just a natural reaction.
No offense but it can't be helped.
C = is for chafed at Chuck! (Boston Charlie B. that is) for the August Alphabet Set.
Quick back story, someone thought it was a cute idea to get me a foot high Bo Sox PEZ dispenser for Christmas. I was NOT amused. Although I do enjoy ripping his throat open to get candy.
It snowed last night so I jumped in my PJs.
I got a serious case of frostnip. Not frostbite. There is a difference and I only regained normal feeling in my thumb today. Ouch.
After wearing massive amounts of makeup and doing intense things to my hair for a show, its refreshing to see what I really look like as a normal human being.
I'm sick, guys. I woke up after 8 hours of sleep feeling like I hadn't slept at all. My whole body aches...My head hurts even after aspirin and the glands in my throat are swollen...lymph nodes? possibly? I think thats what they're called...I took a bath in my parent's luxurious tub and now I'm going to lay in their bed all day...As I may have mentioned before, I sleep on the couch since my grandmother is living with us right now and she is staying in my room.
I just did a little watercolor filter on this in PS....I did a color separation one and a blur one too and almost showed you guys all 4, the original included...but this was the best by far. I also wanted to crop out the tv, but then you either wouldn't get the top of the mirror or my feet and I didn't want to do that. I also didn't want to take the time to just edit it out. So pretend there's not tv in this picture. Kthanks. And now I've gotten my 365 over for the day. Blahhhh. Sick Sarah.
