This is the first digital i've done in a long time... I had forgotten how easy it was!! No waiting around to develop then getting it scanned, i felt like i was cheating on my (film) camera tho..

Cinema isn’t always confined to a screen. Sometimes, the street itself becomes the stage, where passersby blend with movie posters as if they were part of the story. Between shadow and light, fiction and reality, this captured moment feels like a scene from a black-and-white film, where every detail tells a story.

This "Hollywood Story" (1951) poster is one of many in a Film Noir group on display at the West Hollywood Library. The film starred Richard Conte and Julia Adams. This B film was an enjoyable "movie about movies" that gets a big boost from plenty of location shots depicting well known Hollywood locations in all their midcentury glory. Like "Sunset Blvd.," it even features a few scenes with dusted-off silent film stars from the generation before.

They lead her to a deserted country road. Flat, straight. Railroads tracks off in the distance. Nora steps from her car, aprehensive, trying not to let it show on her face.
"Heard you were looking for us," Lash's voice is mocking. "We can settle this. See those tracks down there?"

A train whistles in the distance. Her palms are sweaty on the steering wheel. One misstep and it was over. One missed shift.
The crossing lights up, and the drivers light up their tires. First. Second. Third. The Prelude has the edge off the line, but Nora has more power. Behind her follows the Tacoma, to ensure she doesn't back down. Behind the truck... the rest of the Glen Valley Gang.
The gates drop. The horn blares.
Both cars bottom out on the rise to the tracks, exhaust scraping against pavement. Nora can see the lights on the locomotive out her driver side. Lash is to her right, just slower than herself.
Foot to the floor, Nora clears the train with inches to spare and lands hard on the other side of the crossing. There's a sound behind her, of squealing train brakes and crushing metal.
Lash isn't fast enough.
