Para todo el pueblo hermano de España, en estos días difíciles, que ya llegará la luz. Un gran abrazo a la distancia!

For all the people in Spain, in these difficult days, for the calm will come. A warm hug from afar!

"Ring, ring the bells

wake the town

everyone is sleeping

shout at the crowd

wake them up

this anger is deeper than sleep

Got to keep awake to what is happen

I can't see a thing through my ambition

I no longer feel my God is watching over me

Got to tell the world we've all been dreaming

This is not the end, a new beginning

I new longer feel my God is watching

Break, break the code

Concentrate,

let the door swing open

See, through all my walls

All my floors, now I'm in deeper than sleep

When you let me fly,

grew my own wings,

now I'm tall as the sky

When you let my drown

grew gills and fins

Now I am as deep as the sea

When, you let my die,

my spirits free

There's nothing challenging me"

last winter

My parents paved the driveway and built their home many, many winters ago. This point of view is from their driveway, of an out of frame home.

Recently, my parents moved to Atlanta, Georgia. It does not snow much in Hotlanta.

I wonder if they will miss the snow, and walks down ice-covered driveway, while remembering last winter.

"...Stay, don't leave me

The stars can't for your sign

Don't signal now

There's nothing I can say

There's nothing we can do now

There's nothing I can say

There's nothing we can do now

Goodnight, travel well"

Where she discovered a reflection of herself

Sometimes she saw her real face

And sometimes a stranger at her place

Even the greatest stars discover themselves in the looking glass

Even the greatest stars find their face in the looking glass..."

This special morning brings another sun

Tomorrow see the things that never come

Today

When you see me

Fly away without you

Shadow on the things you know

Feathers fall around you

And show you the way to go

It's over, it's over"

"Take me down little Susie, take me down

I know you think you're the queen of the underground

And you can send me dead flowers every morning

Send me dead flowers by the U.S. Mail

And I won't forget to put roses on your grave

No, I won't forget to put roses on your grave"

"I'll be the calm

I will be quiet

Stripped to the bone, I wait

No, I'll be a stone, I'll be the hunter

A tower that casts a shade

I lie awake and watch it all

It feels like thousand eyes

I lie awake and watch it all

It feels like thousand eyes

I lie awake and watch it all

It feels like thousand eyes

I am the storm..."

Cats are an excellent company in this days of confinement.

Maybe this is my best cat photograph, so far, what do you think?

Gold Mother is the fourth album by the band James, released on June 4th 1990 and provided their mainstream breakthrough. It features their first top 40 singles How Was It For You? and Come Home. The 1991 reissue featured a changed track list and included their number 2 single Sit Down. The album featured an expanded sound with Saul Davies on percussion and violin, Mark Hunter on keyboards and Andy Diagram on trumpet having been added to the band along with Dave Baynton-Power replacing the departed Gavan Whelan. The name of the album comes from the title track detailing the birth of Tim’s son mothered by the band’s manager Martine.

"...T-t-terious, infectious and dangerous

Friends and enemies find us contagerious

And they spread into your system like a virus

Yes the trouble is it kind of makes you anxious

I was lookin' back to see if you were lookin back at me

To see me lookin back at you

I was lookin' back to see if you were lookin back at me

To see me lookin back at you

But if you hurt what's mine

I'll sure as hell retaliate

You can free the world, you can free my mind

Just as long as my baby's safe from harm tonight

You can free the world, you can free my mind

Just as long as my baby's safe from harm tonight"

This song was written in 1991, and it sounds so premonitory for this pandemic age, but in fact, the liner notes to the Blue Lines album, it mention the movie Taxi Driver as an influence, and it's clear that the movie was inspiration for this song's lyrics. The movie stars Robert DeNiro as a paranoid Vietnam vet who drives a taxi at night. He becomes obsessed with saving a child prostitute played by Jodie Foster, and ends up killing some people in his efforts. The spooky atmosphere in this song goes with the theme, as do the lines about protecting a child. From www.songfacts.com/facts/massive-attack/safe-from-harm

Happy Bokeh Monochrome Thursday, everyone!

This year has been so atypical. With this confinement and the quarantine, we've been at home most of the time. We've been getting along with our cats, and they have changed their habits too. They spent most of their time indoors, they sleep in our beds. So, at least in this home this is The year of The Cat.

"Well morning comes and you're still with her

And the bus and the tourists are gone

And you've thrown away your choice and lost your ticket

So you have to stay on

But the drum-beat strains of the night remain

In the rhythm of the new-born day

You know sometime you're bound to leave her

But for now you're going to stay

In the Year of the Cat"

"...The forest that once was green

Was colored black by those killing machines

But she and her furry friends

Took down the queen bee and her men

And that's how the story goes

The story of the beast with those four dirty paws"

"So I walk up on high,

And I step to the edge

To see my world below.

And I laugh at myself

While the tears roll down

'Cause it's the world I have known.

It's the world I have known.

I drink myself of new-found pity

Sitting alone in New York City

And I don't know why.

Don't know why."
