estava mesmo uma bela manhã...

: )

Modem failure. It’s gonna be several days before AT&T gets around to doing anything about it. Posted from my phone. Since my phone is my only access I am limiting my time on Flickr. Nellie at rest.

No internet at the Primus Kaffi in Hellnar, Iceland but plenty of good food and good conversation over lunch. We stopped here during our visit to the Snæfellsnes Peninsula and Snæfellsjökull National Park.

I must have been bad in a previous life! A tower is down across the river so we don’t have any connection, and that also means no TV!

Here we are again, with the network up and down, random connectivity, which is to say mostly NO internet.

My brother may have been right- we are living like animals. :(

I was SO hopeful the other day that our Internet would stay up but it is gone again. We got about 40 minutes?? AT&T doesn’t seem to care. I have been through all the troubleshooting there is. Nobody should have to reboot a modem and computer 20 times a day. Ken made the call today, as I just could not put on my armor and take up my sword again. The help desk guy said it must be a bad problem. LOL! No. We are just a small road of few customers in their big world and they don’t care if we don’t have service. They also know that there are no other options for us- no other DSL, no cable, no satellite/no line-of-sight, so we have no leverage. We cannot do our medical or insurance things online, cannot do our banking, cannot receive email- it is a big halt in the way people live in this day and age. I really don’t know how long I can keep it up- to drive somewhere so I can post or send an email or do business from my phone. Totally depressing. . .

"Sorry, no internet today!"

Feel free to use the image in whatever way you want! I would be very grateful for a credit link to www.planetofsuccess.com/blog/ IF you publish this image on a reputable website (such as about.com) or in a reputable newspaper. Thank you!

For many, it would be an enormous challenge to live without the internet for 24 hours. Could you go offline for a day? Or even more?

Living without mobile phones, wireless internet access, no internet connection, etc. - even if it's just for a day - seems to be a catastrophe to most, but it actually has the potential to enrich your life!

It somehow feels like we all have gotten more and more connected throughout the years. Facebook, Twitter, myspace, you name it. And naturally of course, all the news sites, forums where you can gather information.

Very rustic.

No TV, no internet, showers built for a very small pygmy.

Not very important to Lila and I since were out all day sight seeing.

No elevators, so you have to hire a buss boy to schlepp your bags to your room. Unless you want to grow a king size hernia.

My health issues are receding into the past. I have been sleeping very well ever since we started the vacation.

I have decided to decline the sleep apnea machine because it's way too invasive for me and reminds me of being on life support. I won't wear that mask!

Everything else on me seems to be working OK, so I guess I needed that vacation.

The magical thing about Laos are the youngsters running and playing around. We saw many kids laughing, playing games, and running naked down the riverbanks to wave 'hello'. In Laos there are no toys equivalent to those of Europe. The children make their toys themselves. The making of a toy is part of the game and the toy usually disappears when the game is over. The kids are making our holiday in Laos such a light hearted delight ;-)

Photo taken in front of our guesthouse on the streets of Luang Prabang. Children playing their chained rope game. The photo processed in B/W cause I wanted to light more focus on their faces.

Common street games are well-known games, that are played by everybody, boys and girls, children and even adults. They are played in fields, on the streets or at home, and have been known for generations in many cases. In most industrialized countries, many genuine games have already disappeared without trace. That's a pity. It is not only because of their beauty or their historical and cultural interest that these games should be compiled. Close study shows that they prove to be most powerful educational and teaching.

AT&T strikes again - very slow to NO internet tonight. I have been trying to upload via a cell signal since nothing else is getting out.

Weeping and gnashing of teeth doesn't seem to have helped at all . . .

On the Fence!

Yep, still no interNUT @ home!

How am I surviving? Don't ASK !!! Boo hoo hoo....

even more Boo hoo hoo !!! :-((

Hi everyone!

OMG! Our internet has been out since December 29th and we just got it back a few minutes ago!

Not the best way to start the new Year : (

Anyway, please know i will be playing catch up like mad for the next week!

Our router - the stuff of nightmares! Don't get me started on the the flashing lights and drop outs which are the cause of much grrrrring many times every day... It was only today I realised when I was plugging the ethernet cables back in that they were red and blue and they connect into the yellow LAN zone - so although not a 'pretty' image, it does tell a story for me at least!

hello, my friends! it's been awhile and i still have no internet connection at home. i'm sitting at a cafe with fast wi-fi (very very hard to come by here in manila.)

i'll just post this as a teaser for now. once my secret flickr internet life is back on track i will make it up to all of you! miss you all and can't wait to check out all your wonderful images. boy, have i got catching up to do =)

this shot here was the flooding caused by my friend frank, the tropical typhoon. i was on my way to a sunday lunch and had to ziggy zaggy through many streets to get to my lunch. saw this and had to stop and get a shot of those kids playing in the filthy flooded streets.

thank you all as well for leaving me messages and comments. very very much appreciate it!!

How does it feel to be on vacation and enjoy everything without social media being involved… honestly, I don’t remember anymore, but let’s give it a try #unplugged till the end of April. Only music, books, travel & nature! Let’s do it the 90’s way 💚

a situation taken from RL, my net is so bad lately i can't even be on SL for more then 20 minutes before my net crashes and stays down for a good while. so i basically barely managed to take this shot.

blackout at Queensberry.

My internet connection at home has decided to die for the past day or so and I can't figure out why. It's ok though, Jessica's on the case!

Dave is my neighbor. He doesn't have e-mail, he uses Ham radio, he says there are millions of people who use them.

Ben aan het quilten geslagen . Al vier dagen geen internet . Misschien vandaag een oplossing ?

we had been without an internet connection for a good few days and i was well and truly suffering from withdrawal symptoms.

A series of four shots taken while flying out of Newtownards (NI) in MSFS. I picked somewhere I hadn't flown before to avoid anything being cached. Compare the 'Nointernet' shot with the 'Internet' shot taken at roughly the same place.

The halfway point of my 365 project. Fitting that it be a typewriter with blank and crumpled paper in and around it. Gotta keep my head down for the back half of this endeavour. Wish me luck.

Messed with in PhotoForge and PictureShow.
