A bee doing it's life duty outside in the backyard.

The bride a couple weddings back really had a soft spot for McDonald's French Fries. And who could blame her? As much as I love the fries at In & Out Burger, I agree that nothing beats fresh, hot McDonald's French Fries. So when I got to their hotel room to get photos of them getting ready and saw at least 5 boxes of large french fries laying all around, I knew I instantly had a prop to use for their ring photos.

No GMO was used in this photo.

Washington DC, Upper Senate Park, Saturday September 5, 2015. While photographing a neo-Confederate rally and counter protest I came upon an intinerant linoleum block print artist selling his wares for donations. I purchased his interpretation of the stars and bars for two bucks. I should have also purchased his Monsanto print. Enjoy!

The theory and practice in the treatment of common poultry lice - nits (lice eggs) and adult nymphs with Essential Oil of Eucalyptus Citriodora. How and why it works and how and where to apply it. A treatment I learned from a fellow organic poultry keeper, who had shadowed an organic vet as part of her continuing education in phytotherapy and aromatherapy.

Bethesda Maryland 20814, Summer Of 2023. Another challenging year in the garden. Temperatures swung unpredictably from hot to cool on many days this spring. That condition stunted the growth of my basil and pepper plants like I have never seen before. Then we got so much rain almost everyday for weeks that some of my beloved shallots, garlic and onions showed mildew and rotted in the ground before I could harvest them. Sweet pepper plants are finally growing in my screened 'fruit cage' this year to protect them from squirrels and other critters. Basil is now getting regularly snipped by my neighbors. Corn, taters and squash are going great! Tomatoes are now on the vine and will also be protected by fruit cages before they ripen.

Washington DC, October 12, 2013. Social justice activists staged a small but spirited rally on Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House and then marched to Monsanto's Washington offices just off K Street. One of the speakers at the rally thanked the "two hundred" attendees but I counted only seventy five. The march did succeed in starting quite a few conversations among onlookers along the route about the safety of our food and Monsanto's role in it.

March against Monsanto protest march and rally, Vancouver, BC

The Duo used their super powers to teleport and then levitate while carrying bottles of ‪‎Green Duo‬ and ‪#Mighty Greens‬ for the harvest crew. The Green Duo wants everyone to eat plenty of dark green leafy ‪‎vegetables‬, especially the Pines' harvest crew.

The Green Duo are experts on the research by Charles Schnabel that began in 1932. Dr. Schnabel is the Superheroes' hero,. The Green Duo agree with Steve Meyerowitz, author of the popular "Wheatgrass: Nature's Finest Medicine," when he gave Dr. Schnabel the title, "The Father of Wheatgrass" in the book's dedication to him.

The Green Duo is pleased with how well Pines follows Dr. Schnabel's standards, but is disappointed with other producers. There are only a handful of producers of whole food wheatgrass and alfalfa in the United States, and Pines is one of them.. Most have their own products but also sell what they produce to hundreds of companies that market hundreds of ‪green superfood‬ products.

Pines produces whole food greens using state-of-the-art, computer-controlled, stainless-steel facilities, designed exclusively for ‪‎Certified Organic‬, ‪‎gmo free‬, ‪‎gluten free‬, ‪‎Kosher‬ ‪‎wheatgrass‬, ‪‎alfalfa‬ and other cereal grasses.

If you don't use Pines' labeled products, do you know where and how the green superfoods powders you are using were grown? Are they truly ‪#organic‬? Are they truly ‪‎vegan‬.

If a company says their wheatgrass and alfalfa comes from Kansas, and the company isn't Pines, there is only one other Kansas producer besides Pines, and that producer, starting in 1946, was a major producer of pesticide-based alfalfa for animals used by the factory-farm, confined animal, mechanized meat industry.

Washington DC, October 12, 2013. Cardboard rules!

They also built their reputation providing the best nuts, dried fruits, spices, beans, rices, grains, mushrooms, chilies, extracts and specialty products available in bulk form, mostly as a wholesale business.

As one would expect, bulk items are also an important part of their full line natural foods grocery, where you will also find organic produce, packaged foods, supplements, personal care items, and "Greens," including Pines' ‪‎Gluten Free‬, ‪‎Organic‬, ‪‎non-GMO‬ Project Verified, ‪Green Superfoods‬.

Mount Hope and Pines were both established in the 1970s when the natural food marketplace consisted of small idealistic companies. Both Pines and Mount Hope are still owned by the original people. Mount Hope understands the need for nutrient-dense ‪‎vegetable‬ powders, tablets and capsules.

These ‪#‎superfoods‬ are important in the diet, but the ‪#‎chlorophyll‬, ‪#‎betacarotene‬ and other sensitive nutrients in them loose value in the presence of oxygen. Pines removes the oxygen from each glass bottle and seals it with a special tight-fitting metal cap. That's why Mount Hope features Pines at the top of their ‪‎GreenSuperfood‬ section.

Pines is not only the first "Green Superfood", but we also feature the only ‪wheatgrass‬ and ‪cereal‬-grass products grown in accordance with the standards established in 1937 by Charles Schnabel, widely known as the "father of wheatgrass." His standards not only regarded growing and harvesting, but also packaging as Pines still does today. Those standards are why Pines' products are vibrant green while products sold in plastic bottles and packets are often dull green or even grey.

When you travel between Phoenix and Flagstaff, take some time for the scenic ride to Cottonwood, enjoy the landscape, and stop in at this beautiful, clean and well-stocked natural food grocery.

PURSLANE is an ancient plant, cultivated for at least 2,000 years, it is considered a pervasive weed in today's 'civilized' garden circles. BUT, it is delicious both raw and cooked, and is extremely high in both Vitamin C and omega-3 fatty acids, making it one of the most nutritious plants around. And it usually volunteers! Some tradional European (espcially French) gardeners plant it, and as the rest of us rediscover it, the seed catalogs have begun to carry it. Thanks to 'myvalleylil' for telling me that in France it is known as 'pourpier'. The plant has many ornamental forms and is often known for its flowers. The wild kind has insignificant flowers, but delicious greens.

From Michael Pollan's IN DEFENSE OF FOOD, p 127:

"Wild greens like purslane have substantially higher levels of omage-3s than most domesticated plants."

Washington DC, May 24, 2014. Social justice activists staged a spirited rally In Lafayette Park across from the White House and then marched through the streets to Monsanto's Washington offices just off K Street. My crowd estimate is around 150, double the size of the 2013 event. Police presence was light in numbers but surly, especially towards the end of the event. There were no arrests. Over a million protesters participated in the 2014 March Against Monsanto at more than 400 events worldwide.

Former Canada Health chief and vaccine scientist, now a whistleblower, Dr Chopra who helped stop the gmo hormone rGBH being added to cows milk in Europe after Monsanto and Eli-Lilly chemical companies tried to share the 'market', falsify poor and limited testing. They managed to make it acceptable in US ,Canada and Chile amongst other places through the corruption of the FDA in USA in 1994.He has featured in several films on food safety including the World according to Monsanto (France) and The Future of Food (USA). A succinct speaker at the Auckland Trades Hall tonight. He is the recent author of the book of his ongoing struggle "Corrupt to the Core" , also on DVD , and his hearings also feature in the film "The Corporation."

In 1998 and 1999, Chopra, along with two co-workers: Drs. Margaret Haydon and Gerard Lambert, testified to the Canadian Senate Standing Committee on Agriculture and Forestry that they were pressured by senior supervisors to approve multiple drugs of questionable safety, including Bovine Growth Hormone (rBST).Prior to the 'mad cow' disease crisis in Canada, Chopra warned the government that the current handling of feed to cows including rendering was inadequate. So they turned upon him and his colleagues fortunately he had the support of his union of 200 other scientists so could not be so easliy impuned or dismissed as the 'Wikipedia' article implies from one journalist.

Dr Shiv Chopra tour also extends to Australia on the 16 Jun 2009

Dr Chopra has been called a hero by both David Suzuki and Vandana Shiva. A former Senior Scientific Advisor at Health Canada, he is a microbiologist and internationally recognised contributor to the public debate on key food safety issues. He testified before the Canadian Senate, where his evidence led to the banning of Monsanto’s controversial Bovine Growth Hormone.

Dr Chopra will be giving public lectures in Auckland and Wellington in NZ then Canberra, Sydney, Melbourne and Perth in Australia..

In summary Dr Shiva C' mentions the five steps or pillars to food safety which would leave foods and crops close to pre so-called 'green revolution' of the 1950s or they retain their organic status... :

(Make no mistake, true ORGANIC foods/crops can NOT CO-EXIST with gmos despite the attempt in the US recently to blurr both defintions and world standards) .
