This truck was illegally parked and apparently abandoned for four days at the local high school afterr a F2 tornado ripped through our neighborhood. Power was restored yesterday but Comcast has still not restored internet service.
Our boat did ferry us cross the Nam Khan river to Ban Souandara. This village is populated by Khamu, Hmong and Lao Loom people. Here you can take an elephant ride through teak forests and farmland to Tad Sae Waterfall. After sitting on an elephant through forest and jungle for an hour and half, you will arrive to this Waterfall. The crystal water there will be a great invitation to swim a bit.

Tad Sae Waterfalls can be accessed only by boat and best during rainy season. Here we arrived at end of a very scenic Tad Sae waterfalls. The waterfall stream flows into the Nam Khan river. The waterfall is divided into 3 limestone steps. There are numerous cascades and pools with turquoise water. This is an ideal place for bathing. I'll post more photo's later.

My exposure to my own Celular phone is kept to a minimal, yea, I got a land line as well, my house is almost EMF free.

We took our 30 foot land yatch up to the lake for a while to wash all of the cobwebs from between our ears...stayed at the "NoWiFi RV Park" and had to re-learn the old way to play gin rummy...nothing short of fantastic...
Mexico bound in 3 weeks...
It’s been a tough year all round. George here used to be like you and I until the pandemic crept up on us. Now he lives by different rules. He’d had enough of the 5g covid pigeons, maskers, vaxxers, people who didn’t like electro swing and, most importantly, people who didn’t believe in the new messiah Donald J Trump. After that it was all too easy for George to leave society behind.
So he decided to prepare for the future he knew was coming. George found a bit of land in the most remote part of the planet possible. He didn’t pick Hawaii or New Zealand though as he thought Bill Gates might have a compound there like all the other tech CEO’s. He picked the Pitcairn Islands as they were giving away free land to entice new community members (he should probably have looked into why) and he needed as much money as possible to build the treehouse he had planned so he could live in solitude amongst nature. Now he sits alone in his treehouse amongst the birds. No wi-fi - No gods - No masters. Although he did wish he’d brought a bit more food with him as he only had one Chewit left...

Alexander Dennis E40D/Enviro 400 4836 has been the recent cause of some minor trouble for NXC - passengers seem to be equating the new blue livery for the free WiFi that's equipped on the similarly repainted Trident 2/Enviro 400 batch (4763-76*) - which isn't actually available on this vehicle. That being the case, recent repaints 4833/37 have been returned in the 'old' livery. Goodness only knows when the old scheme will be eradicated here - it could be years away.
*All of 4763-76 have the free WiFi equipped, including 'spare' buses No's 4775-6.
I went to Didsbury Library this afternoon, because I had a lunch meeting in Didsbury and an evening Christmas Carols Choir practice in Didsbury, and I couldn't be bothered to cycle all the way there and back twice. Didsbury Library is nice, but does not have wifi. Heck, it doesn't even have tables near power sockets, so I had to sit with my 'laptop' on my lap. (Very bad ergonomics!).
I realised I was in what was, for the overall size of the library, a huge "Large Print" section, a good three times as much as you can see here. A close-up view would reveal that the spines all declare "Large Print".
Fans of Victoria Wood will recall that she once observed how reading a Large Print novel was like being shouted at for several hours. A very astute observation. I managed to avoid this, however, by concentrating on my work and spending a grand total of 60 seconds looking at the Large Print novels.
Apologies to anyone who, like Dave, might complain about the white balance in this. It's SOOC, out of my compact camera, without a flash, obviously (this is a library after all!), and under artificial lighting. As it happens, I like the way it looks, just like this.

The Baobab Cafe in Loughborough looks like a nice place to take some refreshment. I say 'look' as I've never frequented the establishment.
One thing is missing however and that is WiFi. It gets very good ratings for everything else, and that is really what matters.

Christ, #G and GPRS roaming doesn't work, networks are flaky, none of the cafes have wifi. Managed to track down two internet cafes. One had three seats and the interiour of an expensive spa Italian style (complete with pillows and a fancy chess game and lots of gold-plated stuff), the other one (where I am now) has a coke machine, 10 old PCs running Win98 and the athmosphere far worse than most internet cafes I visited over 10 years ago. What's wrong with these people....
