56 years ago today in this unintended before and after with yesterdays post from 5 years later, we see little evidence that the N&W merger was a few months before. Instead of half-moon herald N&W GE's, Alcos, and EMD's we see yellow striped Nickel Plate RSD-12's, GP7's, GP9's on the ready tracks and Lima switchers on the turntable tracks. This was my very first day using the 35mm that I had gotten for Christmas that year around a railroad.

The National Library of the Philippines welcomes its new director, Mr. Ceasar Gilbert Q. Adriano
Ceasar Gilbert Q. Adriano, the new Director IV of the National Library of the Philippines, was sworn into office today at the Silid Hudhud (NCCA Board Room) in a ceremony facilitated by NCCA and KWF Chairman and National Artist for Literature Virgilio Almario.
The oathtaking was witnessed by NCCA Executive Director Rico S. Pableo Jr. and Adriano’s wife Mrs. Anna Adriano. Also present were National Book Development Board Executive Director Jerry G. Tizon, and members of the NLP Departments and guests from different sectors. Director Adriano was appointed by President Rodrigo Duterte last March 17, 2017.

This Leyland National started life with British Airways at Heathrow Airport as a crew bus (C280).Withdrawn in November 1993,it went to Capital Citybus as 750.In June 2000 it moved again,this time becoming Yorkshire Rider 1373.Its final transfer was to First Hampshire ,where it became fleet no. 432.This was the last National in service with First Group.The vehicle is seen here on 17.7.11,providing a shuttle service from Alton railway station to Anstey Park,as part of the Alton Bus Rally.
