Caturday Yay!
Nitro is an almost 3 yo socialized kitty, and former feral Tom. He was having a rough go of it on his own, before finding a place where he fit in. Now he wrestles his housemates instead of wrestling away from hungry coyotes.
One of the Portuguese F16's keeping it low on departure from a superb first week up at Lossiemouth.

Schon damals war die Welt gar nicht in Ordnung - ganz im Gegensatz zu den Fotos in den Illustrierten und der Werbung.
Even then, the world was not in order - in contrast to the photos in the magazines and advertising.
Das möchte ich Euch auch noch zeigen, jetzt, während ich am Sortieren und Dokumentieren meiner künstlerischen Arbeit bin.
Es sind Malereien um 1977 - etwas mutiger und emotionaler als ich damals war. Ich bin heute richtig erstaunt über diese Ergebnisse.
Geplant waren größere Malereien, die noch kommen sollten.
That's what I want to show you now as I am sorting and documenting my artistic work.
There are paintings around 1977 - a bit more courageous and emotional than I was then. I'm really amazed today about these results.
Planned were larger paintings that were yet to come.
Minus its fiberglass body this is the bones of a funny car seen at the NHRA Virginia Nationals held at the Virginia Motorsports Park in Dinwiddie, VA. Running on Nitromethane fuel (at one time this was used for rocket fuel) and sporting over 11,000 horsepower a good run down the 1/4-mile track would be in excess of 330 MPH and less than 4 seconds. As a spectator the extreme noise, heat, smell and shock waves that these cars leave behind when they make their run is indescribable. As the saying goes, you would have to be there to believe it.
John Force, a legend in drag racing was driving one of these funny cars (not the car above) on Sunday at this track when he had a horrific accident shown in the video link below.
Nitro is really popular with the ladies!
Squeaker is a fixed female former feral kitty. She is basically a wild animal, some feral cats socialize well and some hang on to their instincts over all else. After over a year now, I am the only one who can pet her and only when feeding or she is sleeping. She is great with cats though, just not people.
The sun makes a brief appearance on an otherwise rainy day in Nitro, West Virginia as a solo GP works a local on the Kanawha River Railroad, sorting out cars in the small yard here. After starting life as a Southern Pacific GP35, this locomotive went through one of Burlington Northern's rebuild programs emerging as a GP39V, indicating it was rebuilt to GP39-2 specifications by VMV.
