Sardar. Grewal is a firm Nationalist and he is known for his stand against separatists. He was first to expose that UPA Government sold Kashmir peace to remain in power and foremost in announcing that Shri Amarnath Shrine Board Land agitation is a pro- Nationalist and Anti-Separatist agitation. He took over PDP, APHC and NC Leadership for inciting communal tension in Jammu and Kashmir and actively took the cause of Kashmiri Pandits taking refuge in their own country. Sardar. Grewal took over the challenge of Congress Leadership on Nuclear Deal by posing several questions, which even today remain unanswered. He went on to dub Nuclear Deal as “Bofors Sequel” and corroborated his stand by citing several statements of National Security Advisor, Congress Government and US Government Leadership.

KHATKAR KALAN is a historical village which has got the honour of being the village of the famous patriots and freedom fighters like Sardar Kishan Singh, Sardar Ajit Singh, Sardar Swaran Singh, Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh. In this article the memories of Sardar Ajit Singh, when he came home after imprisonment of 40 years, are reproduced here as he expressed them in his writing.
"My Village Khatkar Kalan comes under station Banga. This village is well known because of its special features."
"This place was known as a fortress. It was related with a feudal chief. There were other fortresses attached to it but they were small as compared to it. That's why they were known as Garh Khurd. My birth place was known as Garh Kalan."
"One of my forefathers started from his village "Narli" in Lahore District during Mughal period to go to "Haridwar". His purpose to go there because he was to throw the ashes of someone from his family member in river "Ganga". The journey was long. In his way he took shelter in a fortress. The owner of the fortress was a kind hearted person. He welcomed that stranger. He was a young person. He also invited him to have meals with him and his family. The owner had a wife and a beautiful daughter. When they were eating food the young man and the daughter of the owner of the fortress got attracted towards each other. The girl expressed her desire to marry the man. Her parent had also selected the person as their would be Son-In-Law. Next morning when the young man was about to go the owner asked him if he was married. The young man said to him "Not yet.". At this the owner of the fortress invited him to be his guest for the second time. He bade Good Bye to them and started his journey again.
After throwing the ashes in Ganga the young man came back to that fortress so that he could marry the girl. The fortress was already decorated by the owner of it and they were waiting for the young man to come. They wanted to give the fortress as a marriage gift to their Son-In-Law. The young man and the daughter of the owner of the fortress got married and the fortress was given to them. After their marriage this place was called Khatkar Kalan. The owner and his wife started living in that fortress as the guest of their Son-In-law.
Thus from their couple started one family. Time changed and the walls for the fortress fell down. During rainy season the deep dug places around the fortress changed into pools. Today people have great benefits of these pools and they use these pools for bathing and other places."
Family Background
The elders of the family used to sit in "DARBAR" a place to do the justice to the people of the village. Even today this place is called "Deewan Khana". Even before the rule of Maharaja Ranjit Singh one family used to live like that and were known as "Jagirdaars" and they also used to send a fixed number of soldiers to the emperor.
"Our forefather used to unfurl the National Flag of Sikhs, four time in a year. The place where this flag was unfurled was known as "Jhanda Ji". It was due to the love of this place that our forefathers refused to go back to their native village, when some people who had come from there asked to go with them."
"After the death of Maharaja Ranjit Singh british officials started suppressing the people. As a result people took arms in their hands to protect them. Our family members also joined hands with them. Due to this our "Jagir" was redused by the british Govt. When Govt. asked for help from my grand father, against the rebellious people, he refused to do so."
"I was a small child then. When one day I went with my grandfather towards our fields, When we were coming back I asked my grandfather about the 1857 insurrection. I had heard a lot about it. I asked my grandfather about the cause of failure of this insurrection. He answered that british were successful only because they got assistance from the "Jagirdars" of Punjab. After listening this story I was quite curious to see the british people, who ruled our country because I had never saw them. Once I requested my uncle Surjon Singh take me with him as he was going to meet a british officer. I saw my uncle saluting a british officer who was quite younger than my uncle and even was not able to speak our language in a proper way. I laughed at his gesture. My uncle stopped me. He introduced me as his nephew. The officer for annoyed as I had not saluted him and then he sat on his horse saying "Ham Nawan Shahr jane ko mangta hai; tumko lot sakta hai" and he left. I and my uncle came back Home. My uncle was angry with me as I didn’t saluted the "Sahib". I asked my uncle that I did not like that man who was not able to speak well and was looking like an idiot. MY uncle decided that in future he would never take me with him when he would go to meet any british officer. From this incident I came to a conclusion that all the british officer are idiots and I would never call them Sahibs or salute them."
"I was a small child then when along with my elder brother I visited Anandpur Sahib to be a sikh. I remember that were given sweet water (Amrit) and told about the principles of sikh religion. This ceremony teaches a person that one who becomes a sikh is never afraid of death and fight against those who do a injustice. He protects and helps the poor, weak and also womens, old etc.. From that day when a person becomes a sikh his mind and soul becomes pure. That's why Sikhs are called Khalsa, Which means pure."

BJP Kisan Morcha National Secretary and Parbhari Himachal Pradesh Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said that there is no question of rethink on Modi as PM instead in our party BJP. He said that Congress party dirty tricks behind statements rather Congress should clarify its candidate as PM. Grewal said that politics is not dirty but the statements of the leaders are making it. Lambasting over Congress party dirty tricks BJP in a significant statement ruled out any rethink in Gujarat CM Narendra Modi as the party PM Candidate. Talking with the media persons here today Grewal remarks in the wake of reports on two websites which claimed that illegal surveillance of a young woman had been ordered by former minister of state for home Amit Shah at the behest of his SAHEB seen as a veiled reference to Modi. Dismissing the allegations the National Secretary said there is no question in our party BJP of doing a rethink on our PM candidate even if a thousand baseless allegations of this kind are made against Narendra Modi. He said that BJP had on Friday circulated a statement issued by the father of the woman concerned that he had himself approached Modi to seek surveillance. This was because she was in Ahmedabad to tend to her ailing mother and needed to commute at odd hours. Grewal said that BJP's National President Rajnath Singh’s strong support for Modi is significant as he has backed the chief minister for the PM post in the face of opposition from party heavyweights like L K Advani, and this will help Modi against those in the party who have argued that he will be a controversial nominee. The Gujarat CM has maintained a silence on the allegations, which are bound to worsen the bad blood between Congress and the main opposition, with BJP having repeatedly accused the Centre of using CBI to target Modi. Grewal said that our party BJP had already said much earlier that we apprehend that the dirty tricks wing of Congress will make such baseless allegations against Modi as the elections draw near Instead Congress should clarify as to who is its PM candidate.
Mohali - 18 November 2013
BJP National Secretary Kisan Morcha and in-charge of party affairs, Himachal Pradesh Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal said people of the country had made their mind to elect Narinder Modi-led NDA government in the 2014 general elections to get rid of the scandal-laden UPA government.
Talking with the media persons here today Grewal added that the UPA government had given nothing to the nation except poverty, unemployment, inflation, corruption and scandals.
"Congress-led UPA government had proved a failure on all fronts and people will dethrone them in the coming general elections,"he said.
The BJP leader expressed concern over the reports of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee (PPCC) president Partap Singh Bajwa following the footsteps of Robert Vadera regarding purchasing government lands.
Grewal demanded that Punjab government should hold a thorough probe into the land deals of Bajwa, his younger brother Fateh Jung Singh Bajwa and his sister-in law.
He said most of the ministers of Manmohan Singh cabinet were involved in various scams and they would not be able to face the masses before the parliamentary elections. He claimed that the people wanted a change in the government at the Centre. "The SAD-BJP alliance will win all the 13 Lok Sabha seats in Punjab in the upcoming general polls,"he added.

Senior BJP Leader and BJP Investor Cell Punjab State Chief Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal warned Sukhbir Badal to restrain from invading “Right to Freedom of Speech and Expression" enshrined in Article 19(1)(a) of Constitution of India and termed Freedom of Press, "a Treasured Privilege”. Grewal stated that Sukhbir Badal have imposed an undeclared Emergency similar to an Internal Emergency declared by Indira Gandhi in 1975. Grewal stated that the modus operandi of Sukhbir Badal is similar to Indira Gandhi, Late Congress tyrant, who suppressed thought process of the editors through her 3 point programme: allocation of Government advertising; shotgun merger of News agencies; and use of fear arousal techniques on Newspaper Publishers, Journalists and Individual Shareholders. Grewal added that Sukhbir Badal is one step ahead of Indira, apart from ensuring huge allocation of Government advertising, forced takeovers and consolidation of Cable TV Networks through “benami companies” viz. Shan-e-Punjab, DIGI Cable and Fastway Cable and misuse of power against stakeholders of media houses who don’t toe to his line, Sukhbir went on to enterprise his own TV Channels such as PTC Group of TV Channels for self embellishment and quck buck. Since, Sukhbir Badal now controls 95% of the Cable TV Networks, thus Punjab Today and Zee Punjabi News Channels were simply blacked out from Cable TV Networks when they tried to air anything unacceptable to “Chotti Indira Gandhi”.
Grewal equated the current situation with June, 1975, when Indira Gandhi led Congress Government declared a State of Emergency and suspended civil liberties, thereafter the Government tightened its controls on the Indian Mass Media, especially on the Newspapers which had reputation of being free and lively. “Leaders learn from others mistakes and don’t do blunders themselves”, advised Grewal. “Sukhbir shouldn’t create an emergency like situation and repeat historic blunder orchestrated by Indira Gandhi during Internal Emergency of 1975”, added Grewal.
Grewal stressed upon the importance of free mass media in a democratic process of nation building and advised the Press to look beyond advertising. Grewal stated that Sh. L.K Advani, Sardar Prakash Singh Badal and other veteran Leaders of SAD BJP alliance have opposed Internal Emergency declared by Indira Gandhi and even spent Jail terms. Grewal advised Sardar Prakash Singh Badal to intervene and ask Sukhbir to take corrective action else this may result in heavy losses to the alliance in upcoming Lok Sabha Elections as opportunist leaders like Captain Amarinder Singh his adulator Sukhpal Singh Khaira are using the situation as an opportunity to vein false propaganda against SAD BJP alliance.

Ludhiana: The depiction of Parvati’s marriage to Shiva, in the Shiva Purana, could be seen as an allegory illustrating the desire of an individual to achieve a state of liberation from strife and banality. If one sets aside, for the moment, the idea of Shiva as a male entity, and sees him instead as representing a state beyond human suffering, then Parvati becomes symbolic of the aspirant who wishes to achieve nirvana, and the story becomes something considerably more than a quaint romantic tale. The acharyas (scholastic saints), who wrote the Puranas, may have interpreted Parvati’s asceticism as a means of winning Shiva’s hand in marriage, in order to discourage young girls from following the goddess’s example, and becoming renunciates.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal National secretary BJP Kisan Morcha, Incharge Jammu and Kashmir said that Our party is the second largest political party in India, came into existence on April 6, 1980, with Atal Behari Vajpayee as its first National President. It registered its first political victory in 1984 Lok Sabha elections by wining just 2 seats. However, in the following 1989 Lok Sabha elections, this party won 88 seats of Parliament. In 1996, BJP became the single-largest political party in the Parliament, with the Congress at its lowest tally ever. BJP created history by assuming power at the centre when Atal Behari Vajpayee became Prime Minister but had to step down after serving the shortest time of thirteen days. In the Lok Sabha elections held in 1998, the BJP-led NDA (National Democratic Alliance) obtained a simple majority and Vajpayee returned as Prime Minister. This coalition government fell in May 1999 when the leader of AIADMK, Jayalalitha, withdrew her support, and fresh elections were again called. In October 1999, the BJP-led NDA won majority seats. The BJP won an all-time high of 183. Again, Atal Behari Vajpayee became Prime Minister for the third time and L.K. Advani as Deputy Prime Minister & Union Home Minister.

Bhatinda: April 6, 2011.

CHANDIGARH: Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal National Joint Secretary, Federation of All India Petroleum Traders which represents over 38,700 Petroleum Dealers and Traders across India Wednesday stated at a Press Conference here that the federation has called for an indefinite all India strike from 20th September, 2010 under the Presidentship of Ashok Badhwar National President, Federation of All India Petroleum Traders - FAIPT.
Grewal stated that Dealers have been forced to take this extreme step as Union Government is not paying any heed to their genuine demands for a long time. Grewal said Dealers and Traders have been bleeding profusely due to inadequate margins and rise in operational expenditure. Evaporation or Leakage of fuel oil takes away 1% of the 2% margin being provided by the Oil Companies on the Sales of Fuel Oil. Rest of the margins are now been taken away with the rise in Wages or Salaries; hike in Electricity, Water & Sewage Charges; increase in Expenditure towards Interest which may be attributed due to rise in Capital requirement due to rise in Fuel Prices.
Grewal aggrieved that commissioning of New Retail Outlets (NROs) by the competing PSU Oil companies around existing Retail Outlets against the orders of Ministry of Petroleum and Honourable High Courts is another rationale for the above call for Nationwide Strike. Grewal added that commissioning of such NROs not only burdens PSU Oil companies as the site is generally leased and cost of construction, dispensing machines and underground tanks etc are borne by the company but also doesn’t serves any Public Utility as another Retail Outlet is serving people in that area. It only deprives the dealers or traders off 2 square meals, they were managing somehow.
Grewal added that the oil companies shall follow reciprocal system of quality checks as while delivering the products they only mention density of the product being delivered on the Invoice whereas they conduct innumerable tests on the samples they collect from the Retail Outlets/Petrol Pumps which is discriminatory and illogical. There should be a common and a reciprocal system to establish quality of the product being delivered to the Retail Outlet.
Further, there should be a single rate of Petroleum Products across India as the variation in Duties and Taxes from State to State leads to variation in Fuel Prices which only leads to smuggling of Fuel Oil from one state to another.
Grewal said that traders or dealers are soft targets for anti-social elements and despite serving the Nation no security is being provided to us, which only leads to thefts and dacoity incidents. So, Oil companies should be asked to install CCTV and other accessories as the Dealers are not in a position to install the same.
Grewal stated that Federation expects a fair solution from the Petroleum Ministry as Dealers/Traders across the country are serving Nation selflessly and added that we understand the fact that agitation is not the solution but out of compulsion, we have been forced to take such a step.
Grewal stated that the Federation National President Ashok Badhwar had called an emergency managing committee meeting on 04th September at New Delhi to discuss the future course of action for the proposed 20th September, 2010.

Grewal stated that Federation expects a fair solution from the Petroleum Ministry as Dealers/Traders across the country are serving Nation selflessly and added that we understand the fact that agitation is not the solution but out of compulsion, we have been forced to take such a step.

LUDHIANA: Sukhminderpal Singh Grewal National Joint Secretary, Federation of All India Petroleum Traders told that the Petroleum Minister Murli Deovra call a meeting 0n 13 September at 3.30 pm at New Delhi with FAIPT National President Ashok Badhwar, managing committee and Oil Companies to solve the issues of Petrol Pumps and 38,700 Petroleum Traders across India.
He also clear that if MOP not fulfil their demands in this meeting our future course of action INDEFINITE ALL INDIA STRIKE from 20th September, 2010 under the Presidentship of Sh. Ashok Badhwar National President, FAIPT will be sure. There is No Change in our Federation Programme.
Grewal stated that Dealers have been forced for take this extreme step as Union Government is not paying any heed to their genuine demands for a long time.
Grewal stated that Federation expects a fair solution from the Petroleum Ministry as Dealers/Traders across the country are serving Nation selflessly and added that we understand the fact that agitation is not the solution but out of compulsion, we have been forced to take such a step.
