Flying out of BNA (Nashville, TN International Airport) heading north and looking the the west, this is the view of Downtown Music City with the Cumberland River flowing its way southward. One of my favorite things about flying is the moments just after takeoff and just before approach when you can see the city and all its surroundings below. Most of the photos that I take during these times are not very good but this one turned out about as good as I could hope for...

Last week, I got the opportunity to see my favorite professional football team, the Dallas Cowboys (aka America's Team), play live just an hour from where I live on Thursday Night Football. They play the Tennessee Titans every 3 or 4 years but only visit Nashville every 7 or 8 years based how the schedule falls and who gets the home game each time they match up. This is now the second time I have seen them in Nashville and the first since October of 2006. It was great to see the Cowboys in person and even better to witness win number 12 on the season!! Let's Go Cowboys!!

Nissan Stadium taken just after full sunset from the east side looking toward the west. Minimal lights are on in or around the stadium providing just enough light to read the name, see the larger than life posters of Marcus Mariota and Jurrell Casey, and see the stadium in silhouette. Aside from being fully lit for a game, I think it's the perfect lighting for a great photograph...

Amphibious Assault Vehicles - Marine Week – Downtown Nashville, Tennessee
The Marines invaded Downtown Nashville for a week back in September. The event was called Marine Week. I was fortunate to have some time to capture some images over a 3 day period. One of these days included a memorial for the 911 victims. By chance, I managed to capture some photos of US Senator Bob Corker and the Mayor of Nashville, Megan Barry. I was also fortunate to catch a mock invasion by air and sea. Out of almost 80 images, I will be posting just a few on Flickr. You can read about my adventure and see many more photos on my blog. Set back and enjoy the slideshow! I had a blast capturing these images. To go directly to my blog, click the link here: www.shutteringthrulife.com/marine-week-in-nashville-oorah/
