Warning barriers above a hydro-power dam in Niskayuna, NY. This is also Lock 7 of the Erie Canal. I went to bed the night before and noticed it was particularly humid, so I figured it would be foggy the next morning. I got up early and drove over. Sure enough, the fog was quite thick and I got this shot.

As I was standing on the pier I could hear a low grunting cackle. In the far end of the photo, perched on barrier there is a blue Herron. The fog muffled the sounds a bit, giving the Herron and the large waterfall a somewhat muted, ever-so-slightly off sound.

Standing there felt like a living dream.
