Masinagudi (Singur check post) - on the coffee estate. The Nilgiris ("Blue Mountains") is one of the 400 top bio-diversity areas in the world. Indigenous people lived there in isolation until the British 'founded' Ooty and other townships as resorts and hill stations. In spite of haphazard development and poor infrastructure, it remains a top holiday destination if you're willing to endure the rigours of the road journey.
