ABOUT THIS IMAGE

"Awakening from a Dream"

I slowly became aware that I was cold, clothed but uncovered. Night had evolved into the twilight rays of morning tearing my eyelids violently awake. I found myself leaning against a large trunked oak tree, my back tight/sore; neck straining, looking to see an Elder Statesman-crusty barked, falling limbs and now way past its prime Elegant Oak with yet so many stories, memories and knowledge. I felt the warmth, heard the stories and became enlightened.

With its roots dating back to circa 540 A.D. The Norman Church of St Brynach is on the site of St Brynach's 6th century "clas", an important ecclesiastical centre. At the time when it is said that Dyfed had seven bishops, this was probably the seat of one. Except for the castellated tower, perilously undercut by the adjacent river Caman, most of the original Norman structure of the present building has been rebuilt. The church and churchyard are remarkable for the Celtic Cross and several inscribed stones.

A small stand of bluff-clutching alders sculpted by the winds

An example of a tree that started to turn in early September, then stopped when the heat returned. It lost the top leaves in that process. Now the cooler weather has restarted the changing process. Five exposure HDR processed with Nik HDR Efex Pro 2
