Bodnant Garden Founded in 1874 and developed by five generations of one family, it was given to the National Trust in 1949. The garden spans 80 acres of hillside and includes formal Italianate terraces, informal shrub borders stocked with plants from around the world, The Dell, a gorge garden, areas of woodland garden with a number of notable trees and a waterfall. Since 2012, new areas have opened including the Winter garden, Old Park Meadow, Yew Dell and The Far End, a riverside garden. Furnace Wood and Meadow opened in 2017. Today the garden also has twenty two Champion Trees, noted for their age, height and horticultural merit.

Pure elegance and fragrance these beauties.

A branch of Freesia, aah, I see them, I smell them... my resistance is low... I confess... LOL

Freesia is a genus of 14-16 species of flowering plants in the family Iridaceae, native to Africa.

Of the 14 species, 12 are native to Cape Province, South Africa, the remaining two to tropical Africa, one species extending north of the equator to Sudan.

The genus was named in honour of Friedrich Heinrich Theodor Freese (1795-1876), German physician.

They are herbaceous plants which grow from a corm 1-2.5 cm diameter, which sends up a tuft of narrow leaves 10-30 cm long, and a sparsely branched stem 10-40 cm tall bearing a few leaves and a loose one-sided spike of fragrant narrowly funnel-shaped flowers.

La cascade de la forêt de la Robertsau

The Robertsau Forest Waterfall

Taken in North Yorkshire on the walk down to the Strid near Bolton Abbey. The sky was misty white and featureless so didn't want to include it.

On a walk around Abbotsford's Mill Lake one day, we were delighted to see huge numbers of various types of dragon flies! (22-08-03-4201)

I was out last night doing a little scouting ahead of next weeks shoot to hopefully capture neowise. It'll will be my first, last and only chance to shoot it. Unless I'm able to live 6.7 thousand years longer than normal.

Not quite sure what road I was on but this is the final shot of my sunset series from last Saturday evening. I kept driving west until the sun popped out from under the clouds. The space between the clouds and the horizon was very small. There was no time to spare so I just pulled over, got out, and started shooting the last of it.
