A view through window plate glass of the day (early 1900s), which was Cylinder blown sheet glass. With all it's imperfections it creates a painterly view of outside the Martin House, Doon Heritage Village.

Just one of many waterfalls in Jasper National park.

A Female Baltimore Oriole watches me through the leaves of the Sumac Bush. She had been feeding upon the ripened berries of the Mulberry Bush, her feathers around her beak still stained with the juice.

Finally got an ID of this egg-sac, it's that of a Ray spider, (Theridiosomatidae). It was dangling below a leaf, and is maybe about 2-3 mm across. 50% crop of the original image. Single shot, handheld.

A winter sunrise over Cape Bonavista, NL

A highlight from this summer has to be this particular day fishing for cod off the north-east coast of Newfoundland and a few wonderful encounters with these spectacular Sperm Whales. The weather that day made it all the more magical.

This species of whale seemed to take a shallow first dive (as if to gain momentum) and immediately follow that with a more vertical dive when it would disappear into the depths using echolocation to seek out its favorite food in the pitch dark ocean depths, Giant Squid.

Even though it wasn't the ideal sunset I was looking for in Collingwood with the silos, it was still nice and dramatic with the low misty clouds on the Blue Mountains in the background.

I was attracted to how the light played across this farm. The contrast between the beautiful aging barn, the fenced and well kept pastures, farmhouse, and farm garden, all went to giving it a warm sense of lived-in tranquility.
